I wanted the Racor Type filter to build a diesel fuel polisher for my boat. The unit works well with the Amazon recommended bundle of the pump and hose pipe. Although this is a Chinese copy of the Racor water seperator it is excellent value for money and does the job. I wasn't sure of the size of the supplied filter so I bought two spare 10 micron filters from another source. I found the O rings supplied were fine and the unit has worked well for several hours with no leaks. Although some other Chinese copies attract negative reviews of the quality of the finished casting, this unit had no rough edges and the seals are all well fitting.

Overall very happy with the product. I like the option of Banjo or straight connection. only slight niggles are that on receiving the item the upper t handle which secures the filter cavity lid had been overtightened meaning the smaller o-ring which seals the t-bar thread to the cap was damaged and torn. This will have to be replaced before use. Also it would be nice to know the micron number for the filter to aid in deciding on replacement cartridges.

Pretty rough and ready but it will work. The top was screwed down far too tight and had to be undone with grips initially. The top of the filter body wasn’t flat and had to be made flat on a sheet of abrasive paper. The flow ports were very crudely drilled/machined and needed to be made good (very thin sharp edges made smooth).

Fitted this on my yacht as a replacement for the Parker racor original equivalent which had sprung a leak.These were about £200 when I priced them .The replacement was £40. Seems very well made and fitted it in about 20mins. No leaks so far and the seals seemed good so I used the ones supplied. Replacement filter element looks exactly the same as the Parker racor. .I am going to replace the one on my generator with the same. Excellent value. Don’t hesitate.

I fitted one of these filters to my yacht. It was meant to be a quick and easy way to change a filter element while out at sea.It started leaking after two weeks, which I could not stop. Even worse it let air into the fuel system, which caused an engine failure which I could not restart the engine. As a result we needed a tow back into our harbour. I ripped out this filter and throw it in the bin, this is poor quality rubbish. Which could have resulted in a serious situation had the engine failed far out at sea. DO NOT FIT THIS FILTER.
