I needed very lightweight food to bring with me into the Yukon Delta on small prop planes, enough for a week in the field. Brands of camping food sold online or in camping stores are expensive, full of artificial ingredients and can taste truly awful. I brought these pouches, some pouches of tuna and other fish, some mayo packets and some seaweed snack sheets and had food I loved for the whole trip :)

You need to add more water than it asks and needs to soak longer. It's similar to ricearoni boxes in consistency... just requires more than it asks in it's preparation. Tastes good though for what it is. If I were at home eating.. adding butter or a meat/ bone broth would have been better.. but that water needs to be boiling when added. I'll by again.. just need more flavor with me on the trail.

I love this product! It tastes great. Easy to use.

The flavor was just okay. I added soy sauce to make it worth eating. So unless you like the taste of just plain rice I would say skip this. Buy yourself some minute rice and avoid the cost.

DOUBLED IN PRICE SINCE i LAST ORDERED THEM. NO LONGER WORTH IT. BOO.//These are perfect for emergency kits. I let it steep for the minimum amount of time -- 15 minutes -- in barely boiling water and the texture was really good. It's a bit bland, but with a small amount of butter, salt and pepper it was actually delicious. Most of the vegetables were on the bottom, so the flavor got better; next time I'll mix it. These have really healthy ingredients, too, which is hard to find in instant foods. I'm going to order another box right now.

I was raised in Japan so I enjoy authentic Japanese food.I tried this rice instant product and I must say, it tastes fantastic! Unlike other brands, it actually tastes like rice cooked using a Japanese rice cooker. I was also impressed that the packaging comes with a spoon attached, making it convenient to eat during camping trips without worrying about bringing additional utensils. But don't forget to remove the dehydration pouch inside it.What’s more, this product is lightweight and easy to pack for camping trips. When cooked, it yields a large volume perfect for more than one adult portion.Overall, this brand of instant rice is perfect for camping/outdoors and a quick meal indoors thanks to its great taste and convenience.

I did not like the flavor of this rice. The texture was pretty good though. It was too sea weed flavored for me. I did not keep the remaining pouches.

It's great for emergency rations. It's a bit pricey, but it works. What better for feeding your family in an emergency.
