Gladly surprised -great tub!!!
I confess that I bought it reluctantly. I have a standard poodle who requires a lot of grooming. Bathing him in my bath tub or anything at floor level destroys me and when comes time to dry and brush him, I’m in terrible back pain. I looked into a lot of elevated bath options, and they narrowed down to very large and expensive professional grooming stations -of which I have no need, or things that can only be used for very small dogs and puppies. I decided to give this one a try, and I couldn’t be happier. I had seen only people using it outdoors, and I was afraid it would flood the bathroom. I was also worried that it wouldn’t be sturdy enough for my large dog. Neither worry was real. The tub is very stable and sturdy, and my dog had no problems standing on it from the first time. There are no splashes nor leaks, and the drain flows very nicely into the shower install. I have a small bathroom that is only used for the swimming pool, so I made it into my dog’s bathing room. I installed a 10ft long handheld shower head and removed the door of the shower to let me walk around the tub. I store it standing inside the shower install, but I am not sure if the legs will be deformed by storing upright, with all the weight on two legs in an awkward position. I am considering storing elsewhere on all legs. Storage is the only down side be use the tub is very large! I bought the XL but I think I could have gone with the kL size, even for my very big poodle. The only thing I’m not a fan is the lean guy of the collar holding straps. Near 1/3 of the tub is useless. If these were shorter the tub could be significantly smaller and be less cumbersome to carry and store. I really have no idea why they decided they had to make it so long. This is a very poor design. Even an arm like those of grooming tables would have solved the problem and make it much better.

Great Product
First let me tell you about my dog. He is a 95 lb. German Shepherd and has never met a bath (or shower) that he liked. Giving him a bath was, to put it mildly, a real job. Since he developed a seborrhea skin condition about a year and a half ago I had to bath him often to keep the odor and flaking under control. Up until that time he did not get many baths so when I had to bath him regularly I realized that I had problems (a sore back and a big mess). I then started looking for some kind of canine bath apparatus and found the BoosterBath. After reading the reviews it seemed like a very good product. I purchased the extra large version because it had a one piece tub and the legs bolted on and I wanted a bath that gave my dog enough room and was sturdy. The XL unit is a good size for him and it is quite sturdy. I only use it outside and it stands on level lawn.Assembly was fairly easy and the only tool required was a Phillips screwdriver. A bolt goes through the tub into each leg and then a large knob secures the leg to the bolt and is hand tightened. Each leg gets a rubber bumper inserted on the bottom, then plastic covers are screwed over the bolt heads on the inside of the tub. The retaining harness for the dog is attached to the tub with three eye bolts, three large washers and then three large knobs to secure the eye bolts. The only mild difficulty I had was attaching the shampoo holder to the tub, it was kind of hard to insert the last tab and I stress-cracked the tab at the top of the holder. (I called BoosterBath and they are sending me a new holder, good customer service). The drain hose on the XL bath is held in place with a plastic nut, so it will not detach from the tub. The instructions say that it uses a o-ring under the nut but there is not one supplied and the manufacturer says they do not require it anymore, I am not using the drain hose since I use the bath outside. The instructions also say to register your tub, but again the manufacturer says they do not require that to be done either.Getting back to the actual bath, it went very well. My companion was not happy but he was apparently resigned to the experience since he stayed calm and even sat down at times. What used to take 45 minutes to 1 hour of discomfort for both of us now took 1/2 hour and it was painless, at least for me, my dog did not say much.I had also purchase a Eccotemp L5 portable instant water heater so I could use warm water on him and that worked out beautifully.

Buy It!
I have waited a year to purchase a booster bath. I kept talking myself out of it. Took my dogs to the pet stores to use their self-wash station, sprayed them down outside, and strained my back over the bathtub many many times. So I finally said enough is enough and took the plunge. Today I washed my 120lb Bernese and 45lb husky with our new bathtub in under an hour and I will never go back to doing it in the bathroom again. I am in love with this product and our experience is so much better with the straps. Nobody is freaking out or trying to jump the walls. Phenomenal!

No more leaning over the tub!
I have had this in my cart for almost a year and I finally decided to purchase it. I have an 80 lb dutch shepherd/cattle dog mix, a golden retriever puppy, and a husky puppy. My big dog fits fine in it. I can coax him up into it with treats but I think I will have to order the stairs in the future. I like that it a leash/collar that connects in 3 spots. It did not keep my husky from jumping out when I bent down to pick something up, but she was okay. Hopefully, it scared her (and me) enough that she won't do that again. Even when she did that, the bathtub did not tip over. I love that I do not have to lean over the bathtub and fight to keep the pups in the water. I can stand comfortably at the side and scrub them down. Afterwards, I can use my force dryer to dry them off and blow out undercoats as needed. It is easy to rinse out, but hair and stuff can go under the mat. Since the mat is screwed down you have to kind of force water under there to spray out the hairclots. Other than that I am very glad we finally purchased this tub.
