How is the bulb retained in these adaptors?

The side (positioning) pins of the H4 bulbs had to be cut back to 1mm, which was realtively easy to do. The other problem was a bit more difficult to overcome: The outer diameter of the ring slightly larger (1mm?) than an original bilux bulb's, so it had to be reduced in order to fit in place of the bilux bulb. I've managed, however. Some might not have this issue, if the socket is not sensitive to the outer diameter.
