Slightly more expensive and smaller cans and some brands but again does not have carrageenan. and in it which is a thickening agent made by seaweed that is guaranteed to almost cause cancer in your cat. If you can afford something a little better with more natural ingredients this is the route to go.. but as a reminder as far as lower and affordable friskies also does not have carrageenan in it if you're on a budget please look at friskies It doesn't have as much natural ingredients It might not be quite as healthy as brands like this but it has the one key ingredient that I would never give my cat Which is the carrageenann

This might be the very best cat food I've ever given my cats. I wish I could give it more stars. This stuff is high-quality food with an emphasis on the protein and hydration cats really need. You can see actual meat or chunks of fish in this food, rather than the vaguely meaty mystery stuff you find in most canned cat foods. This food looks and smells good, even to me, and judging by my cats' reaction to it, it must taste great, too. Like most cats, they are picky and mercurial, and I never know how well they might accept a new cat food...or even a tried and true favorite, for that matter. But they seem to love this stuff. And Solid Gold is all about transparency, listing not only all the ingredients in their foods, but there's a page on their website that provides sourcing information for each one of those ingredients, so you can be sure about everything you're feeding your kitties.By the way, this company is amazing, too. I received the wrong product initially, but all it took was one quick message to Solid Gold to have a replacement order sent to me in just a couple of days. Their customer service is friendly, professional, and efficient, and the brand is excellent all around.This product costs more than other pet foods, it's true. But I would much rather pay more for good quality food now than have to pay more to the vet later. The health and happiness of my girls matters most to me, so we've switched to Solid Gold. If you are considering it, I urge you to try it, and maybe even offer it as a weekly treat, if the price to serve it daily is prohibitive. But be prepared for a lot of feline lovin', because your cats will surely thank you for it!

Chicken pate. Expiration date really snuck up on us quickly. The closer we got to the expiration date, the top layer in the can was a different color than the middle as if air was getting into the cans despite appearing to be fully sealed without dents or any air pockets. That's about when it started to really upset my cat's stomach as well. Loose, smelly stools. It was bad. I had to throw out the last six cans over a month prior to the expiration date. This is way too expensive to be going bad before the best buy date. Do not recommend feeding to your cat unless you're buying it from a brick and mortar store so you can check expiration dates before leaving the store.

I PURCHASED THIS BECAUSE OF THE INGREDIENTS,BUT SADLY MY 2 SPOILED CATS DIDN'T CARE. THEY LIKED SOME OF THE FLAVORS, BUT NOTALL OF THEM. SADLY I WILL HAVE TO BUY SINGLE CANS . STILL THINK IT IS A VERY GOOD CAT FOOD.

As far as the product goes Great 5 stars. The vendor selling it is meh. The expiration date was April 2025. For me, that is fairly quick, as wet food is not an everyday thing.
