Don't even need to read the manual
This printer is very easy to set up and connect to the Wi-Fi just as well as I didn't find the manual until after it was all working, the quick start guide (QSG) is all you needFirst go round remove all the shipping tape and paper, remove the tones packing and refit - all clear in the QSGFinding the Wi-Fi menu was by trial and error (would have been easier if I had seen the manual) entering the Wi-Fi details is a bit slow as mine are a mix of upper lower case and numbers but once done connects no problem.Installing the SW on a MAC took longer than setting up the printer.Print quality is good, speed is OK for normal home / small office useWARNING this is not a small printer make sure you have desk space for it

Feels well built.
Well I have been using inkjet printers for a long time. So this type of printer is new to me, and a big change. OMG it was so heavy. Yes it did get up stairs to my desk, just. My' so well packed. I was very impressed with the build, it seems solid and sturdy. Used the quick start guide to get going, yes I know I am just impatient, but I had job waiting , the puter and printer said hi and almost got going straight off. I did use the usb cable, and have not tryed with wifi thats to come. Also printed a colour picture on photo paper, not to bad once I had got the settings right. Have tryed scanning, worked well. Now the print side of it works well. So quiet, so far I have printed about 500 sheets of A4 and have no grumbles, I get what I want, good clean copys. Its a little slow, compared to an ink jet, but the quite is heaven. So I am feeling well pleased with myself for buying tech and getting it right.

Really good once you get passed install.
Really solid printer, well built and easy to physically install. A few plastic tabs to remove, keep a good look out as there are plenty inside the trays etc.I use it on Linux and Windows and it works fine as a scanner and printer. The bundled set of Apps that windows comes with are useful but notifications can be a little annoying it like me you turn it off when not in use.Problems are around the installation. It asks you to either use a cable to connect it directly - a cable that isn't provided. OR you connect via WIFI.Connecting via WIFI is where the problems start. It asks you to provide an IP address which you can't get until you connect it to WIFI so it can get a WIFI address. Leaving you in a catch 22 situation of which there isn't enough web pages, help guides and logic to get passed.Linux has something like 12 ways you can connect to it, all require you to know in advance what the IP address is.Save yourself a load of hassle and buy the cable you need. (See picture for the two ends you need, luckily I had one from an older printer) It is a USB A to USB B style cable. You only need this to help setup the machine in the first place, then you can rely on WIFI.Even when installed and working the Machine tells me the IP Address correctly on its display, the BT Home hub tells me the IP address is 0.0.0.0 and can't detect it as being turned on. Even when it is printing from my PC via WIFI.

My first laser printer - impressive print quality and easy to install
Just bought and installed this printer for wireless home office printing with Windows 10 on a PC. Installed easily first time and prints beautifully, lovely, sharp quality. It's my first laser printer and the print quality is impressive. It's a bit larger than I expected, but looks and sounds like a professional printer. I paid £177 for it, which seems like good value for money, although I believe the toners are expensive to replace. If it remains hassle-free it wil be worth the slightly extra cost over an inkjet. I bought this after having ongoing software issues with a brand new HP Officejet 3831, which I have just given away after months of hassle.

Great printer, wish i went laser years ago
Dont often wirte reviews, but wanted to here.Bought at beginning of lockdown as HP Inkjet died. Its been awesome and reliable. great user interface. Brother have been releasing software updates for it (apply via the web management interface).Fast to print first page, great double siding. Its a big unit though.Photo printing not great (this is an laser printer limitation, not the specific device). Great for schoolwork/general home and office printing. I have bought the extended black cartridge (the black it came with lasted 828 pages). After 1250 pages, the colours are on 50/50/40 percent and black on 80% - I try and print B&W where I can.

Excellent Printer
Delivered in record time and well packaged. The setup was quite straightforward and I was able to use it in no time. It allows you to copy and scan which I have used without any problem. The print quality is very good and also happy with the printout speed. So pleased with my purchase.

Great quiet printer
As an Epson and Ricoh man changing manufacturers was a bit daunting. As my GP surgery seemed to have no problem with brother lasers I took the plunge and bought this. I have been genuinely pleased with both the print quality and the quietness of the printer. The only down sides are: don't try filling the paper to the max marl - leave it 5mm below the mark as sometimes it has trouble pickup top sheets after a refill. I cannot seem to print in black if a colour toner is empty or missing. (I need to play with this some more). Overall a fantastic small business printer.
