Overlord, Vol. 1 (light novel)

So, after watching the anime and reading the translated LN versions online from Skythewood translations, I decided to buy this LN with Vols 1-4 (latest as of writing this review) at once mainly because I loved it and since it was one way that I could support the franchise.As for the books themselves, they were neatly and securely packed. However one of the vols had some sort of torn pages at the top which seemed to have come from being hit with something, but nothing too much.The only complaint that I have with them is the same as someone (PervySageChuck) who has already pointed out in the reviews.. To quote them, "The ONLY possible complaint that I might have is that while the text pages are nicely bound to a cloth backing, the book's boards are merely covered in paper. I would have been more than willing to pay a bit more for cloth covered boards, but for only fifteen bucks, this was still acceptable."As for the story, I really love how the author has decided to make the Main Character/Protagonist 'seem' to be against humanity and be an 'Evil" person. The strong point of this story is how it involves action, romance (slightly), comedy, drama, politics, military etc without making it boring.Unlike other stories/LNs involving settings like MMORPG, this one goes really dark. Expect a lot of R-rated content. I was never disappointed at all. Right now this is 1 of 2 LNs that I am reading .. The other one being "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected" by Watari Wataru.I really wish the translations would come out a little bit quicker so that I can read from the books directly instead of reading online translations and waiting for a long time to get the physical copies. However, the fact that they are available for purchase still makes me happy..I'm looking forward to purchasing the later volumes..

It is the light novel or the original story behind the anime overlord and the manga as well. This is the most fantastic lore with fantasy mixed with gaming me hanics and a lot of action and some fanservice compiled beautifully into a hardcover novel which comes with a poster and character profiles at starting and ending of the book. Must buy for isekai,fantasy and action lovers

Definitely a 5 star light novel. I was reading it to gain more depth, as someone who has seen the anime.

I love the story and the in depth world building it presents. I recommend this series to anyone who love fantasy.
