Is the seal on the bottle supposed to look like a piece of tape? When I opened the box, I could smell the vanilla....which makes me question the seal

My seal looked like tape, if I remember correctly and it was fine. However I didn't smell the vanilla when I opened the box. I take a tsp of this with a tsp of brown in my cookies. Delicious. Great in tapioca too!

Is this real vanilla?

no, it is not. Look at the ingredient list: Water, Alcohol, Vanillin, Celulose, Artificial flavors, Sugar. There is no vanilla extract. I bought this for less than a dollar in a Puerto Plata supermarket. There is no way they could make pure vanilla extract this cheap.
