Can you microwave this product?

Never put your gourd in a microwave! It doesn't matter whether it is metal or wood. When I drink mate, I put the mate in the gourd, heat my water in a pyrex microwave safe measuring container in the microwave and pour the heated water over the mate in my gourd. I then cover the gourd and let the mate sit for at least five minutes before I drink it.
