what is the diameter of the globe? 12" or 29"

From the contradictory answers on the part of the company rep vs. the video and the dimensions given for height, I'm guessing that the company rep did not understand the difference between "diameter" (the distance across, measured through dead center) and "circumference" (the distance around a sphere -- the Equator is a circumference). A 12" diameter globe would be basketball size. A 29" diameter globe would be the height of an average dining-room table. Big difference!

Does it not come with a light bulb? We plugged ours in and nothing is happening

The light bulb is already installed inside the globe. Plug it in and then there is an on/off switch on the base of the globe to turn on/off the light.

is the map accurate? i live in the caribbean are all the islands listed ?

Yes, it’s like a normal world map during the day and it shows the constellations (as a night light) at dark. 4 teenage grandkids love it and still use it!

are state capitols shown ?

Not all of them. They do have major cities shown. The countries have their capitals marked although I was looking at the globe thru plastic as this is an Xmas gift. This globe is a lot smaller than I thought .
