What's the difference between this and the less expensive XF400? (Asked the same question vise-versa on that camera too)

The XF400 does *not* have an SDI output port while XF405 does. I think that's the only difference.

Can you live stream with this camera?

As with any camera, as long as there is an hdmi out you can use it for live streaming but you need separate hardware for encoding the video for streaming. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a camera that had this built in. There are several options out there. I’ve used a couple from blackmagic. They have a web presenter that will accept any hdmi or sdi source and recognize it as a webcam and convert it to 720p for streaming. They have other cheaper products as well like the mini recorder which works.

Who has used this for live streaming on yt/fb? how has it performed?

It works well. Lots of setting. Need a good video capture card and lots of upload speeds for 4K

Does this camera shoot C-Log?

In short No. This camera is not set to capture in C-Log and at this time Canon has not said any thing about it ever being able to. It captures its image in wide DR at 800% which lets you obtain more gamma than the standard codec, but the codec is still giving you a-lot of colors in the end . And for anyone who wants to know, C-Log is a flatter image that you would need to use color grading software to pull your colors. This spring (2018) they will release a long GOP/Interframe codec but that has nothing to do with the gamma that the camera can capture.
