Miss Marple Collection [DVD]

For me, Ms. Rutherford will always be THE Miss Marple. For films so old, the transfers are first-rate.

This gem of a set is absolutely worthy of any collection, Margaret Rutherford is amazing as Mrs Marple although Agatha Christie herself was absolutely mortified by these movies.Not the usual classy Mrs Marple but a more off the hinges British old Spinster.To be honest I have nothing to criticize here. Just buy it.

I love old movies. These are all black and white and wonderful fun. Rutherford is so much fun to watch. These movies are loosely based on Agatha Christie books. The stories follow Jane Marple as she solves murders. No sex or swearing. No gory bloody scenes. Just fun.

I absolutely LOVE Margaret Rutherford as "Miss Marple". She and her real husband add humorous adaptations into the murder solution and provide a diversion with harmony! She is WONDERFUL as Miss Marple and I wish she had made more of Agatha Christie's movies. Enjoyed it with my husband (which never likes any older movies), but laughed and watched anxiously for the murderer to be revealed!!! I would recommend this collection. Great!

Entertaining old movies, but Rutherford’s character is nothing like the Miss Marple in the books. She’s more like Jessica Fletcher. It’s best if you pretend this Miss Marple is a relative of Agatha Christie’s character. Only “Murder She Said” is based on a Miss Marple novel and Joan Hickson, the most authentic Miss Marple, has a supporting role. Discs played with no problem in my all region player.

Because of Margaret Rutherford, there will never ever be (and to date has not been) a single other depiction of Miss Marple whose performer's work didn't make me cringe

I love the movies. However the dvd s were region 2. I had to buy a new disc player to watch them. This was not mentioned in the ad
