Worth
I purchased both the front and back shell sold by the same company so my review reflects my experience with both.Modding controllers can be pretty nerve wracking but it's absolutely doable. This shell in terms of quality was better than I expected and while it's not real wood it's a nice enough fake. I was surprised because the front and back shells are sold separately but the grain on both pieces still matches up really well. Now for what I didn't like and this may just be an issue with how I assembled. The sections where the two shells join on the grips where your palms rest aren't flush and is a noticable defect when you're playing. This is a pretty common issue around aftermarket shells so keep that in mind. The design of the PS4 controller itself doesn't do this any favors as well. Not a huge complaint but I have a lot of sensory issues so that's my problem. I would also make sure you have the right model controller to match with this shell. I tried digging through the reviews before purchase but I couldn't find an accurate model number. The controller I was modding was a model CUH-ZCT2U when this shell seems like it was made for a CUH-ZCT1U (if I have that right). This may be the real reason the shells didn't fit totally flush but again that's my fault. The main difference between the 2U and the 1U is that the rubber padding on the PS button for the 2U controllers is held in place by two pegs much like the other buttons but the 1U just has the padding stretched over the PS button housing. This may sound like nonsense but if you pull apart a PS4 controller you'll see what I mean. Again this isn't a big issue and I was able to make it work regardless but it's something to keep in mind.10/10 would definitely recommend. Will likely buy another shell for my personal controller as this one was for a Christmas gift.

Great feel and easy installation
This is sort of deceptive. It is a brushed look but it feels extremely smooth. If you have one of their "soft touch" front shells expect that sort of feel. Installation was a breeze. The original screws do fit, just thread them through before installation. Mine fit without any burrs or seams at the edges. The only criticism I would have is for the inside cutouts for the led/usb portion. The cutout for the white thin plastic strip isn't right and I had to leave that out. Leaving it in created a gap in the case because it wouldn't close all the way. I just took it out, its not necessary for any function of the light bar (top or front) I transferred the sticker from my original shell (which was broken) to this new one.

Looks & feels great, just tricky to install!
I really like the stuff from extremerate, they have good shells for the ds4 & switch joycon/console shells that I've used thus far. It's much cheaper and a LOT more custom when you put a shell on your controller instead of buying an entire new one.First, if you're not the most handy with electronics or small screws this might seem a bit difficult, but it's not terribly hard. If you have something like an ifixit kit or small bit screwdriver set, bring it out. Also, look up a tutorial on youtube for how to take apart a ds4 - again, ifixit has a great step by step guide to do it.I replaced both the front & back shell on mine at once, since it'd be easier to do it all at once than take it apart again, but the back shell has this great carbon fiber look to it, while also having this really nice "soft touch" kind of plastic feel as well. It's really great to hold! Much, much better than the original ds4 controller. Nowhere near as "slippery". It does lose one star because in a couple seams, it doesn't quite line up as "flush" as the original shell, and almost like one part is just half a millimeter taller or shorter than the other. It's not terrible, but it is noticeable. It isn't very distracting though.I think it looks great, I put a neon chartreuse yellow front shell on mine, but there's so many they carry you really can make something super unique.Really happy with the shells!

Fit perfect, 10 min assembly
I bought this for my controller after my dog chewed on it a bit, I have no experience with taking apart electronics but was able to youtube a tutorial and had it ready to go in 10 min. The grip is soft which does add a bit of a slippery feel, but it was to be expected. Really happy with the carbon fiber look though, really makes your controller stand out!

Has a great feel to it
It's definitely a wonderful back replacement, the only problem that I've noticed is depending on which model PS4 controller you have it might not sit 100% perfect but if you pair it with another extreme rate faceplate they fit together perfect, but overall it's extremely well made

Looks and feels great.
Wasn’t expecting much besides what I paid for, but the texture of this feels so much smoother yet also seems to have a better grip than the original.Pleasantly surprised

Its a good product plain and simple
Easy to install for beginners, smooth texture, quality plastic, fits together well with other plates. I recommend pairing with the eXtremeRate The Great Wave Patterned Front Housing Shell Casefor a slick Classical Japanese feel.
