Q: Would these work better than freeze dried chicken? I give my cats large dog sized treats. They help but they still get tartar?

I have 3 very large Maine Coons. Maine Coons, in addition to being 1 of the largest domesticated cats, they have a very large mouth. Most treats are smaller and they tend to not chew about half of what is in there mouth. They are nice and big and they love them. They are big enough to pick up with their foot and put it in there mouth. This year when they had their yearly physical, the vet commented that one of the males and my females teeth looked great. Last year she had noted that both were going to more than likely going to have their teeth cleaned because of tartar build up but their teeth look great. She thought maybe I had started brushing them. Nope they had just been eating Purina DentaLife chicken and salmon treats and they loved them. They must not have a high calorie count because Nick still weighed 30.2 lbs, Bunny weighed 18.4 lbs and Ace was a little less at 29.9 lbs. By the way all 3 are a perfect weight for their bone size, length and height. Chicken is ABSOLUTELY their favorite!

I do not order the pouches; I order the 13.5 oz pllastic jar.

Q: Can these be used for kittens?? Im looking for larger treat as rewards in training.

I've been using these on my 11 week old kitten and she loves them. They take a little while for her to chew- but that's probably a good thing since it gives the treats more time to work as advertised.
