Over 20 Years Later, and I still absolutely ADORE the Halti!!!
I don't get why this product has such a high return rate, unless people may have gotten the wrong measurements for their doggo. But oh my goodness, it's still as amazing as when we were first introduced to it in 2001!Back then, we had a 100 lbs Labrador mix who was crossed with all kinds of ornery, and even after obedience classes and all kinds of training, he would pull so hard he'd regularly yank me down to the ground, break free from my grip, and take off for adventures around our neighborhood (namely running to the nearby cow pasture to roll in cow patties. Which really stunk. Washing cow poo out of dog fur outside on a cold autumn afternoon is not fun, would not recommend).I'm not exaggerating at all when I say the halti collar saved my dog from being dropped off at the shelter, because my parents were just about fed up with the stubborn boy. But then our vet recommended trying the halti collar. And man, was it a game changer! All of a sudden, we could easily walk him! There was no more tugging, pulling, or knocking us to the ground. We could actually get him to heel. And, with positive reinforcement, he grew to love it, even running up to us to put his muzzle inside the halti because he knew it meant we were going out on another delightful walk! And here I am now, over 20 years later, finally ordering my second halti collar as my last one sadly bit the dust, and it's just as good as all those years ago! My Caucasian Shepherd/Pyrenees cross is doing great with it, and I'm so grateful to be able to be able to experience the wonderful joy of using a halti with a large dog all over again! I love how they've improved the design, with extra padding in the halter around the nose area, as well as the fabulous added safety strap to help prevent the halter from slipping off the muzzle! It also has added reflective material which my old one did not have. And, after just a couple of positive training sessions, I'm already noticing a difference in his tugging, and I'm controlling him with a lot more ease.If you have a big dog or a hard to manage dog to walk, I absolutely encourage you to get the halti! It has been a favorite dog walking collar of mine for over 2 decades, and I plan on continuing to use it in the years to come. Definitely recommend!

helps my reactive dog significantly
this has been the absolute best thing for my reactive dog. I have tried harnesses and collars and shock collars (vibration setting only), but nothing was working. that was until I thought to get a gentle lead. it is the only way I can control my 60lb dog. she is extremely strong and will pull the entire walk and then lunge at other dogs. this has curbed that behavior. we are still training to reduce her reactivity but now I don't have to be pulled and her lunging has stopped. this has allowed me to actually train her because I now have more control. if you have a dog who is anything like mine, I would get this because it has really helped. having a reactive dog is hard enough, this makes it much easier and now my dog has become less reactive. I got a size 3 and it fits perfectly for her.

Superior!
The design of this headhalter makes it much more safe and functional. I included photos that allow you to see under the chin. You will not get this design with any other brand. This keeps the halter out of the dog's eyes and the pressure in the appropriate location on the nose. The fit is so much better, as is the material. There's enough padding on the nose band without creating a block in the dog's vision. The design works as intended unlike other brands of head halters. I have tried several other head halters and they go in her eye when pulled on and are cheaply made with thin nylon.Yes the price is higher, but the safety and comfort of this brand makes it well worth it. Even with minimal training she is happy to leave it on and does not rub or paw at it to try to get it off.

Better than other Leaders
The HALTI Head Collar is much better than the other brand Leaders as the strap is wider. My 80 LB - 1 year old Golden Retriever really doesn’t like it but it does work to stop his aggressive pulling. I think with a little work he will come to accept it. I tried it with the HALTI No Pull harness but the harness was useless. I was able to use the Head Collar without attaching the lead and my boy accepted it much better and didn’t pull with lead on his collar or vest.

Halti
Many years ago I took one of my dogs to obedience training and the trainer recommended I use a halti for my dog because he pulled when we walked. It's AMAZING how effective these are at keeping your dog from pulling. I've used them for years on different dogs who were also very different sized dogs and it works great. However, to be clear, dogs can still pull when wearing a halti, they're just less likely to do so. I was told that the bridge that goes over the nose is was deters them because, I was told, that mothers would discipline their pups by doing something to their noses and that carries over to how the halti works somehow. But even if they do pull wearing this, it's nothing like it would be without it.I love these and bought several for a local shelter for their use when walking the dogs housed there (I don't think they actually used them but they are there if they want to). It's also worth noting that I have two dogs now that I had to use halti's on because they both pulled (one small dog and one medium sized dog). The first dog I ever had pulled hard any time I didn't have a halti on him so I thought it was a permanent thing. I used it on my small dog for several years but now he no longer needs it and he rarely, if ever pulls. I had my medium dog that pulls for about three or four months (at the time, he wouldn't let me walk him with just a collar - he had a harness that was used instead, which was a pain to get on him!) using a halti before I did a test not using it and not only did he stop pulling but he also allowed me to walk him with his collar only - something he would not allow prior to that.So whether you need it long term or just long enough to train your dog not to pull, I HIGHLY recommend using a halti - they really work!
