With battery pack always plugged into chair and wall outlet does it automatically charge?

Same question here RR. I would leave it plugged into the wall because I need a battery pack to use when there is a power outage. I am handicapped and in a power outage I could very be stuck in the reclined position. Will it be okay to leave it constantly plugged in?
