🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Timeless Classic with a Modern Botanical Twist – Perfect for Gin Enthusiasts
As someone who enjoys exploring craft spirits and building a refined home bar, I was genuinely impressed by the complexity and balance of Plymouth Botanical Gin. This is not just another gin, it’s a historically rooted spirit with a character all its own.Right from the nose, the difference is clear. The aroma is fresh, clean, and elegant, with an immediate burst of juniper softened by citrus and a subtle earthiness from angelica and orris root. It’s a botanical bouquet that doesn’t overwhelm, just a smooth, sophisticated invitation, well balanced all round, colour is transparent. The taste is where Plymouth truly shines. It’s incredibly smooth, with a slightly creamy mouthfeel that sets it apart from typical London Dry gins. The botanicals are layered and well-rounded juniper-forward but not aggressive, with coriander and cardamom adding warmth and depth. There’s a faint sweetness in the finish, almost like soft citrus zest meeting a touch of pepper.Whether in a classic martini, a G&T, or more nuanced cocktails like a Last Word or Negroni, Plymouth holds its own. It’s versatile enough for mixing, but complex enough to sip neat if you’re feeling adventurous. The packaging is also worth mentioning classic, understated, and premium. It feels like a bottle that belongs on the shelf of someone who knows their spirits.Verdict: Plymouth Botanical Gin is a staple for any serious gin lover or home bartender. It bridges tradition and modern mixology perfectly, and its smooth, refined profile makes it a standout in a crowded market. This is more than a spirit, it’s a piece of British distilling history, and it deserves a spot in your collection.⸻✅ Verified PurchaseWas this review helpful? Yes ✔️

Probably the best gin in the world
Probably the finest gin out there period! A classic juniper forward English gin with superb flavour, great in a martini or negroni or with quality tonic.

A smooth and complex gin
This one of several reviews I will be doing of various gins.I have something of a gin habit and rather geekily score gins for both g&t and martini on a spreadsheet (I mix 1:5 with a twist of lemon, well I don't mix it myself that's what husbands are for ) . I score out of ten and I give my go to gin (Bombay London) a 5 out of 10 to act as a baseline to judge against. We score more than once so I get an idea of how they taste over different times and occasions. Please remember these scores are personal and what I like you might not.So on to Plymouth:G&T 7/10Martini 7/10This is a relatively inexpensive gin and as such now that we have tried it we plan to ensure that there is always a bottle in the cupboard. The G and T is excellent and the martini, paired with Noilly Pratt, is just as good as our other favourites which are made from much more expensive gins. It is very smooth without the harsh edge that you get with a lot of gins. Definitely one to try.
