Great So Far!
Cooler is in and working. I did initially have an issue with the fan but Amazon sent me a new one, overnight. Honestly, the problem might not have been the fan but the relay, however, I cannot confirm that. The new one works great, keeping my transmission cooler. The real test will be when I tow my camper, I will update next week.

GREAT product idea. Just be careful of dimension & fit.
The professional mechanic whom I asked to install this for me, he was like "wow, awesome idea" - speaking about both the bigger cooler surface, an attached fan, and (bought separately) thermostatic switch to control the fan.Unfortunately, this cooler is too big and wouldn't fit my vehicle.*IF* you're open to the idea of putting this cooler in front of your radiator (per Hayden instruction), yes it would have fit my car too. But I'm keeping that space open for a front-mount intercooler that I'll be putting in later. So in the limited space where the factory stock trans fluid cooler sits, this item (Hayden 526) wouldn't fit.Highly reco folks to search/read Hayden's product guide, and get the "outer dimensions" (not just cooler core dimension), and check where on your car you plan to mount this, before buying it. Note this is not the same as the "package" dimension that some times show up on Amazon for this product listing. As it stands, I am buying a different/smaller Hayden cooler (the 677), built with the same plate/fin concept, but it does not come with integrated fan.And then separately, I'm also buying a 7" (or maybe it was 8") automotive fan, and will mount that to the smaller 677 Hayden cooler. The 677 is still DOUBLE the cooler surface area of my stock cooler. With an additional fan, it'll still accomplish what I want to do.

Does the job and works great
The install was easy. The only tough was finding a good mounting position in a Mitsubishi Montero. It's pretty crowded in the front area with the A/C condenser, electric condenser fan, factory engine oil cooler, etc. Once you figure the best mounting your transmission overheating problems are solved. I did not put the cooler in series with the radiator. I wanted to eliminate transmission heat going to the radiator. Works great

Would recommend (even with a fan failure)
*Update 2018-06-25* Found that the fan did not fail - it was a bad connection. So now I have both fans running, and keeping things as cool as cool can be. :) *This cooler has kept my oil temps way down on my air-cooled motor. I am using (2) due to the extreme weight, hills I drive, and low power of my vehicle. I already had 2 other plumbed coolers, which were literally falling apart. These mounted almost exactly in line with my previous setup.I used a manual switch for the fans, as I watch my oil temps very closely, and also like to turn it on when idling in traffic and prior to going up long hills with a head wind. They move some air, and the cooling effect on oil temps can be seen pretty quickly.Only issue I had was one of the fans failed. The other is running perfectly. I don't think this is a huge manufacturing defect, but COULD be seen as a potential problem in the long run. I have contacted Hayden directly to see about a warranty replacement. With that stated, I would STILL recommend these. They are heavy, well built, and cool well in my case. My key take-aways are:1) 1 fan failed in less than 2 years with only some moderate use (albeit in very hot conditions).2) Coolers installed quickly and easily3) They cool things down quite a bit4) They are sturdy enough to be mounted on the exterior side of my vehicle5) Wish the attached wires were longer (me being nit-picky) and were more standardized in color (i.e. black for ground, red for positive)

Finally had time to install. Works great.
Finally had time to install. This compact cooler unit was pretty easy to find room for in a 2008 GMC Sierra behind the grill. Made custom brackets but the side rails mounted to this unit made that easy. Fan is small but moves enough air to help the trans cool after a slow hard pull up a hill towing. Used a simple switch and 40 Amp relay but probably only needed the switch as this fan doesn't draw much amperage.

Fast shipping product as describedInstalled on2007 suburban 2500 I had to do some minor mods behind front bumper but nothing major product keeps trans cool just pulled 7000lbs in 90+ degree weather and trans stayed under 200 degrees however I can not speak for the fan as it has not come on yet even when the truck said trans temp was 195 degreesI might rewire the fan to come on with the key instead of using the temp sender purchased desperate to turn fan onI would recommend and buy again

These are a bit expensive but very easy to install and they work great keeping my trans cool when towing my 17 ft trailer behind my 1/2 ton Tahoe just put in line with the factory trans cooler and radiator cooler so there are 3 now and this one with the fan built in can be wired many different ways to meet individual needs great product good quality

Fits in 1994 Mazda Navajo with some small modifications
After starting to get a trans leak on my '94 Mazda Navajo (read: Ford Explorer) due to climbing steep grades to reach our campsite, I dropped the whole transaxle and trans assembly to replace the front seal. After replacing the front seal and installing everything back up I wanted some more preventative measures to not have to do all that work again. I removed the front guard and made a few small cuts/modifications to get it to fit in place of the old trans cooler. Mounted everything back up and currently have it wired up to a switch. I don't use a temp gauge but when I start coming up on some steeper grades will loaded up with camping gear and my motorcycle carrier loaded with my DRZ400, I just flip the switch and don't think twice about it. Have not had any more issues since installing it.
