Just finished replacing all 4 joysticks on both of my controllers and right out of the gate, they work great. I highly suggest plugging your controller into your laptop and calibrating it at https://dualshock-tools.github.io to ensure you have it centered properly (very easy process).If you dont have a soldering workstation, you will need to make sure you get the essentials before attempting this replacement. It takes a moderate amount of dexterity and know-how when it comes to removing the old joysticks, desoldering, and soldering in the new components. I wish I had a desoldering gun for removing the old joysticks because using a focused heat tool and desoldering wick was a biznatch.At minimum get yourself a desoldering gun, a soldering iron, solder, and flux before you get started. Doesn't hurt to have some 90% or higher alcohol available to clean the circuit board if needed.Great product thus far, hope it holds up and myvcontroller drift stays a thing of the past.

They worked great installed on a stick drift controller and once calibrated controller worked with no issues

Amazing solution to fix stick drift on the PS5 controller. Knocked one star off as one of the joystick had a different "click" and feel to it when pressing down on it. I only realized this after going through the whole process of installing it. So now I am just going to live with it

Work as expected for a PS5 controller that was previously experiencing drift. 3 of the 4 would have been fine with no calibration, but one was drifting slightly in game play. Went online and calibrated them on DualShock/tools.github.io. A few other reviews had mentioned issues with their R3. In my case, no issues with my L3 or R3, they still work fine.Removing the existing hardware is a pain, in part due to the number of pins involved and the fact lead free solder requires a higher temperature. After spending too much time trying to desolder ~14 pins and remove as a whole assembly, I ended up breaking it down into smaller parts. For example, disconnected a pot and removed just those 3 pins. Much easier doing it in small steps. Once I got the hang of that trick, the second (left) one took half as much time as the first (right).A nice small flush snippers, desolder braid, and flux are the accessories you need - in addition to a soldering iron and solder. If you don’t know what those are, then this project probably isn’t the one for you.

The kit is perfect!All of these were darn near spot on for center calibration right out of the box.Installed all four in my controllers.They feel very nice.Very pleased!

Joystick was weirdly sticky despite cleaning with isopropyl. It would physically stick to outputting 1.0 on the Y axis, -1.0 on the left axis, as if being held in place by a glue or sticky residue.

So I replaced the joysticks in 3 PS5 controllers. Removal & install went fine albeit slowly, with no issues getting the new sticks calibrated on GitHub’s calibration site. 4/6 of the joysticks failed after about a half hour of play each. All in all it wasn’t worth my time as I only have one functioning controller but lost about 5 hours of labor-time installing them. So I had to go back and solder in replacements again using the circular pot design instead of Hall effects.Next time I’m just gonna clean out the circular pots with alcohol swabs (in the old joysticks) if they drift again.

So, I just installed these today and I gotta say - they do work. But immediately after the sticks were all wonky. My let one was pointed a few degrees up, and my right on a few degrees right. I checked these using some common online controller GUIs. There is a solution however, as there is also an online tool that will recenter your controllers for you. With that recalibration they have so far been perfect - but if they fall out you can rest assured that I'll be coming back to lower my score further. Absolute nonsense that I should have had to jump through such hoops after installing these things (which it is already a bit of a pain to desolder the old joysticks)
