Essential for the disabled
My elderly neighbour stopped visiting as she struggled to stand up from my sofa - only one SOFT arm to lean on. When I recognised the problem I saw this item on Amazon. It has been a life-changer. My disabled/elderly friends can visit and haul themselves out of my sofa with dignity.

Very sturdy
The sofa aid is very sturdy. I find it a bit narrow when trying to do my knitting, so I have to push it away and slip my feet over it, then pull it back in when I want to get up. I am a short lady so with our sofa I have to sit on a cushion to be able to use the aid. It definitely helps me, but this company also does an adjustable one, height and width, maybe I should have bought that one. I think it depends on the height of your sofa, but make sure you have a couple of inches under your sofa for the legs of the item.
