Great if you ever break down larger cuts of meat.
We definitely didn't need one this large but have never ordered or used one before. So I thought bigger was better. It did work great but I'd definitely recommend ordering a smaller one too. Great to break down something larger like sheep/ hog/beef. But really hog or sheep could use something under 40" probably easier.

Awesome saw!
Used this when we processed pigs. Everyone was amazed at how well it cut with being a hand saw

Meat saw
Seems too be good quality. Haven't had any issues so far when in uses.

Excellent, if you need it
Most home cooks probably do not need this saw. It is much easier to buy exactly what one needs- asking the butcher to cut it as requested if necessary- and not have to bother oneself.I am not one of those home cooks. I AM a home cook... but we get almost all our meat from a meat CSA, and we are not really able to discuss the finer points of exactly how we'd like our beef shanks cut, for instance; we get what we get. And that's very high-quality and humanely-raised and pastured... but is sometimes not in a form that's easy to use.Like shanks and marrow bones. We get long bones; these are not most useful for cooking. Similarly with trotters. (I'll add that we specifically ask for these and the normal monthly subscription does not contain them.)This saw will make these and similar cuts SO much more useful! I am really excited!I'll add that I am an aspiring home butcher; I'm good at poultry, and am looking to try, say, a ham. And i need a saw for that.I've only given it a quick test thus far, but it seems very effective; the tricky part is to get the meat/bone held so that it can't slide around while one's sawing. I may need a vise for the kitchen, too.But- I am very pleased and excited about the opportunities I now have!

Couldn't cut it
I bought a big whole ribeye to cut into steaks with my freshly unboxed saw. The meat came out of my deep freezer at 0⁰F. The saw wouldn't cut it. Every time I'd push the saw, the teeth would bite too deeply making it impossible to use. I don't know if it's a design issue or an operator error. I've never had trouble using hack saws and hand saws around the house, and that's basically the same thing.

Not a stainless blade, it's plated and the pating peels off after less than 10 uses.
Made in china. The blade is not stainless, it is plated and the plating in peeling off after less than 10 uses. Do not buy the chinese replacement blades sold on Amazon, they are not actually stainless, just plated garbage.
