This is not a live lobster. It is made to look real but is not; it is a rubber product. I bought it for my daughter-in-law who collects sea/ocean creatures. I do not know if lobsters dream.

Is this lobster replica flexible or rigid?

Fairly flexible..... rigid where it should be and flexible where it should be.... I am using it as a decoration on an old fishnet.....

Can these be used outdoors in a lobster trap

I used it in an indoor display in a lobster trap. You might be able if you shellac it prior to putting it in sun, etc.
