Not sure on this one yet...showed promise. Instructions for setting code were pretty sketch. Construction complicates the process. I'm afraid the code could get reset inadvertently. Time will tell.

The weight of this unit is very light but the quality is strong. It is easy to use and looks good.

I ordered this triangle-shaped locking carabiner on a whim, thinking it might come in handy during camping trips. After I received the lock, it dawned on me that this is a great deterrent for preventing thieves from snatching a purse or backpack, especially if you're out to eat at a dodgy place or an open-air cafe. You could lock your gear to a table leg, thwarting would-be thieves from swiping your stuff. The lock is solidly made, but I think a determined thief with a little time could crack a four-digit code easily enough, so I wouldn't use this to lock up anything valuable for a long stretch in an isolated place. Its size is limiting, although it is a little bigger than I thought it would be. See photo of lock in my hand for sense of scale.I did find the directions confusing. There is a very faint raised line on the left-hand-side collar of the lock, and that's your mark (or guide point) for lining up the digits to unlock the carabiner. (The instructions make it look like it's a circular point, but that is wrong.) To reset the combination, turn the collar on the right side of the digits up as far as it will go while the lock is open, reset the combination and turn the collar back to its starting place. At least, that worked for me.

its a lock..is it the best lock to use on something you really need reliability.. I don't think so.IMHO: There is a huge design flaw in the code setting and tumbler. I was able to follow instructions to set my own code.i fiddled with it a bit, changed the code a few times to make sure i knew the mechanism was working. it does.but the flaw is that when you turn the numbers to align your code, you can accidentally turn the "change-code" wheel. which had me scratching my head a few times. I'm thinking if this was in place and you were rushed, unlocked it and unlocked the "change-code" wheel, then you'd put yourself in a pickle. wouldnt buy again

It’s a good quality product, it just didn’t work for what I needed it for, so I returned it. Return and refund was easy, fast without complications.

This is a funny shape for a lock, and the locking mechanism is just .1” of aluminum collar, so it’s not a high degree of security, but it’s good enough to lock the beer cooler. The wide distance fits a thick lid, but allows for a peek. It works as described, but this is not a ‘good’ lock.I feel like I could pull this apart if I had to. I tried to muscle it open, and while it resisted my effort, I was able to widen the gap and get the gate to budge onto the collar. I didn’t want to ruin it, but I could get past this lock with a piece of wood if I was determined. This is more a fun lock, to keep my cooler from being emptied. It’s a visual way to say “sorry no more drinks tonight”.The blue finish is wearing off from slamming the gate shut on this lock. Being aluminum, the metal itself will begin to wear down. It will wear down extra fast because it was drilled round at that point, despite the lock being flat there. That’s just a gap where it should be solid.Fine for novelty, where you don’t need much to keep people honest. Not appropriate for serious security.

If you need a carabiner clip with a combination lock, this one is the go to !! It's really well made and setting up the code is easy.
