Lenovo 40AN0135US Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 Dual UHD 4K Display - Thinkpad Docking Station Dual Monitor with HDMI, DP & TB3 Cable (Renewed)

I have been using this dock for over a month now. Works as intended. I am using it in my home office with dual monitors and a KVM switch to switch between computers. Our IT department provided a dock when issuing the laptop, for use in the office. I needed one for home. I had been using the cheap, USB C generic type docks. They would work for a short time and then something would go out. I am pleased with this dock and have no reason to not recommend.

Very dissatisfied. Bought it, and within two months the HDMI plug to connect to monitor #2 started shutting off on its own. The fix? Pull the cable back out of the unit, count to 10 and then reinsert. So I tried the other video cable port and cable style - it began working then suffered the same fate. Now, twice a day on average, I have to pull the cable out and reinsert it. Naturally, the return period has expired. The lesson here? DON'T BUY 'RENEWED' product! Clearly there was a REASON it needed renewing - which clearly did not entirely work. It's not the monitor - its a 2 year old monitor that worked just fine prior to using this box.

Works as advertised.

Have two Lenovo thinkpad laptops and dock at work. Bought this refurbished model dock, neither hdmi port works correctly, you get a video output of 700x600. Tried different hdmi cables and a two different usb c cables with no results, all cables work directly to laptop. Thankfully both display ports worked. Refurbished should be fully tested before selling. This dock model has a specific combo cable for pass thru power and display and was not supplied.

Its a Docking station for a Lenovo laptop. It does all the functions it is supposed to do.

Update #2 (9/4/2024):I've received the replacement dock and this one works flawlessly, not a single issue. I'm not sure what happened with the first one I received but this other unit works the way it should - both HDMI and DisplayPort ports are sending the correct video signals and the network port successfully connected. I am using this with a Lenovo X1 Carbon (Gen 11 I believe) laptop. The power button on the dock will also turn on/wake/sleep the laptop. (note: I tried this with a desktop as well but only had a USB-C 3.1 port available so it didn't work - you definitely need a Thunderbolt port; look for a USB-C port with a lightning bolt next to it.)Update #1 (8/26/2024):The seller has reached out and offered a replacement. I am awaiting that unit and will update once received. Also, after testing the dock with a different monitor I was able to determine that the DisplayPort (at least one) was successful in providing video output. It may just be that the HDMI ports aren't working on the unit I received (and I still wasn't able to get any network connectivity). Hopefully this is just a fluke with the unit I received and the replacement will be fully functional.Original Review (8/19/2024)I was excited to get this dock as I've been having some issues with my current one. Unfortunately, this was much worse - it didn't work well at all (essentially defeating the purpose of a dock altogether). After plugging everything in and powering up my laptop (which is a Lenovo), neither of my monitors activated. Both were powered on, but were not receiving a video signal. I spent about 20 minutes running the firmware update utility from Lenovo (I don't know why this "renewed" item would not have been up-to-date to begin with...) and even after that finally went through and said everything had been updated, I still didn't have anything on my monitors. The laptop was also not recognizing the network port on the dock. Interestingly, the laptop was showing connected to a power source, and my USB mouse/keyboard connected through the dock were working. There was definitely connectivity between the two, but limited functionality. With no additional monitor support and no network connection, this dock is basically an incredibly overpriced USB hub. Very disappointing.

I'd like to return this! It never worked. Tried to get it working, but it seems I did not get all the right pieces.

This is one of the best docking stations I have ever seen. This is clearly an industrial strength docking station with so many options and connectivity, that it would be best for a multimedia designer or video editor. The ability to drive up to four monitors simultaneously cannot be overemphasized. If you are a design specialist or need advanced CAD support for multi -monitors this docking station is the answer. Additionally delivering 130 watts to each channel is crucial and with USB-c with DisplayPort you really have power house of a support system for your PC. Backed by a Lenovo Warranty, I cannot recommend this enough!
