Cute and functional for kids!
I got this as a gift for my 5 year old niece who is interested in science and medicine. As someone in the medical field myself, I wanted something cute that she could play with but also that would encourage her to pursue science as well. I think this is perfect! I tested it out first- as a stethoscope, it actually functions pretty well. I could hear both the heart and lungs pretty clearly. It isn't as good as my actual stethoscope, of course, but it doesn't need to be. I think the clarity of the sound is just right for kids to be able to explore medicine. I wish there were more colors though! Pink would be wonderful.As other people are saying, I would not recommend this for a clinician due to the quality, but for kids, it is great. Some family practice and pediatrician offices have stethoscopes for kids to play with, and I think this would be an excellent choice.

Perfect when your child has an ngtube
The hospital had forgotten to give us a stethoscope to take home when our son left the nicu with an ngtube and you need one to listen to make sure the tube is in the stomach....i was kinda worried since it was so cheap but the reviews were great and i have to agree! We didnt need it longer than 2 weeks so i cant say how itll hold up for long periods of time but for the length of time we needed it, it was great and tou could hear very clearly and the animal attachments are so cute!

Great toy, not great for actual listening
I bought it for my daughter to play with, so it works for that purpose. Unfortunately I can't hear a thing when I've listened to her heart. The ear pieces are quite hard and uncomfortable. But she's a big fan and loves it a lot. If you're looking for a toy stethoscope, it's fantastic. If you want your kid to actually hear the heartbeat of the person they're listening to (like I was hoping for) pick a different one.
