Excellent Pen for the Money!
I purchased the Deep Ocean or maybe it's called Dark Ocean, regardless, in <F>it's beautiful. I have it inked with Diamine Aurora Borealis which is the perfect pairing. I love these little Jinhao 82 pens. This isn't my only Jinhao 82 and definitely won't be my last. They are a great weight, quality, and excellent value for the money. I write quickly and well with it on various fountain pen friendly paper with no issue. I've not had any problems with leakage or drying out. This is a great pen, buy one!

Nice pen and smooth writing
The media could not be loaded. I don’t know if I expected it to be scratchy because it was so inexpensive, but I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth this pen writes. I’ve been using it almost exclusively since I got it and inked it up. I’m using Noodler’s Lexington Gray ink an it’s a lovely combo. My husband is a lefty and has never been able to write with fountain pens. Not just because he’s a lefty, but also because of the way he grips his pens. Surprisingly, he was able to write with this one. I got the blush pink and might get hubby the gray for him.

Great option for me.
My first pen was metal slim and heavy and very slippery. My hand tired from having a death grip on it. So then I got a plastic pocket pen. Great for my purse but it could get lost and feels a bit small. This was supposed to be dialing it in and it does! I love the screw on cap I live the size and it’s pretty without looking like a demonstrator pen. It does not look like a cheap felt pen or a stuffy grandfathers document signer. It’s warm and not slippery. It posts well. I like the fine nib. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again. I do recommend gloves while changing inks. It seems that a piston pen, you are sticking the whole pen in the bottle which is not quite as easy as a converter but it helps to have gloves for sure.My only complaint is the clip seems a bit stiff. Other than that, it is the best feeling pen in my hand. The nib has been reliable but has a bit of feedback. But I don’t need to be super quiet when writing these days.

A fantastic little cheap pen
It’s clearly a Pro Gear Slim homage but it’s pretty cool. I’ve got three of these and they are some of my best writing pens, even among my expensive Japanese pens. You really can’t go wrong for the money.

The Fine Nib Isn't Fine
I'm one of those who still likes to write with a fountain pen. My 1962 made-in-USA Parker 45 started to require a lot of maintenance, so I bought this pen, the made-in-China Jinhao 82. It is a small pen and doesn't feel as natural in my hand as the Parker. That will likely improve with use. I like the filling mechanism. It writes smoothly with no skipping. My one big complaint is that the "fine" nib is more like a medium. I really wanted a fine. The nib says "F" but the photo shows comparisons with the Parker and 2 gel fine liners.

Beautiful but nib is terrible
Perhaps I just got a bad pen, but the nib is dry and hard starts consistently. The color is great and the pen is an attractive pen, but this nib is the absolute worst. I did not try to return or replace as it is less than $10. I have another color of this pen and it was great.

Incredible value for the cost
I’ve been bitten by the fountain pen bug and now have 9 pens… and this one is my favorite. It’s absolutely smooth and wet, every time. I wish several of my more beautiful pens wrote as well! I reach for this one most of the time.
