Degas Dancers for Kids
This is the second book in this art series by Laurence Anholt, that I've purchased for my 5-year old grand daughter. I love the mixture of classic paintings of the featured Artist along with the illustrations of the book. I also enjoy how the author weaves the story of a fictional young child interacting within the artist's world. I'll be buying more of Mr Anholt 's books - a great way to introduce art appreciation to young children.

fantastic book
My daughter loves art and museums. We bought her this book after reading about Degas in the Olivia book. It was a perfect prelude to going to the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. The MET has a version of the sculpture discussed in the book and several Degas ballerina paintings as well. We brought the book to the museum with us.One note, there are some sad themes in the story, which made our 3.5 yr old daughter a little sad, but in the end, they are good life lessons.

Degas and the Little Dancer
Degas is known for his 'Little Dancer" the ballet girl, the ballet girls, for the most part. What little girl wouldn't want to read a story about a great artist from France painting the dancers as they are dancing? This is an oversized book, lovely pictures, and brings the little ballet girl to life. What a wonderful way to learn a bit about art. This type of learning will stay with children for years to come.

Great book to teach kids about impressionists!
This is a great story, also includes a fantastic bio in the back. Beautifully colored pictures, this really opens up your children to learning more about the greatest impressionists.

Darling book!
I love books for my 5, 3, and 1 year old that are richly worded and drawn to depict the art and lifestyle of classical art and artists. I highly recommend!

Perfect way to introduce children to art
Fantastic book. I purchase it for an 8 year old and read it to her (reading level would be third grade and up). She went home and looked up the Degas references on the Internet. She also took it to school to share with her classmates. A wonderful way to introduce children to art.

Great Story
I am a homeschooling mother and is therefore always on the look out for educational books. I love this book even though the focus is not so much on Degas' other works, it tells the story of the little dancer beautifully. The book also paints a clear image of who Degas was and why he, in the end, became a sculptor. Books like these open the eyes of children to the world of arts and they end up having such a great appreciation for art works.

OMG, Laurence Anholt! You’ve done it again. ...
OMG, Laurence Anholt! You’ve done it again. This one was so sweetly done. You reintroduce old classic art and make history seem very relevant. I may have to order everything you ever wrote.
