The best penknife
After looking at various penknives to replace my aging blunt red plastic thing with nearly every tool bar the kitchen sink, this Alox has everything I need on it. Nothing is surplus, for me. I don't need scissors as they never seem to work on penknives, and corkscrews are rarely necessary these days, tweezers and toothpicks might become unhygienic. This feels quite heavyweight and is very good quality, though I definitely wouldn't want to carry anything heavier in my pocket. The two knives are very sharp. Surprisingly, I found the pointy reamer thing perfect for cleaning soil from my fingernails after a session in the grubbing around putting plants in the garden. And the bottle opener handy for the beer afterwards. The large blade is a good size but still UK legal and I think it is great value for money. Very pleased, buy this one.

Quality piece of kit
This knife is not too big, not too small, and all round just right. Some Swiss army knives are just too unwieldy to carry around and have far too many tools that will never be used. This version has an ideal range of tools and is perfect for my needs (includes a pruning blade - useful for opening parcels!). All the blades are very sharp straight out of the box. There's a real quality look and feel about the knife.

A LOVELY THING.
Don't know why I bought this. I've got lots of really nice knives and I didn't need another. But both visually and by feel this is simply a lovely object. Haven't even used it yet - I carry it around in its cardboard box - but I know it will be strong and sharp - just like every other Victorinox knife I've ever bought. It is small enough to be carried easily but big enough to be useful. A good general purpose knife for everyday carry.

Victorinox all metal
This model all metal, very solid in the hand, has two blades, one is curved, one straight. Both are very sharp. A saw blade that is really up to the job. It is legal Carry, though it is a bit specialist

Great outdoor pocket knife - that's UK 'legal'.
1. Quality - as is usual with Victorinox, everything is perfect: materials, grinds, polishing, action, spring tension, half stops.2. Tools - great tool set, possibly the best for outdoor use, and maybe gardening. The small pruner blade is unlike any other SAK I know of, it's very slicey. The taper grind is all on the outside edge to fit past the bottle opener/flat head tool but I don't see this as a negative, it works really well and gives a second blade option/back up that no other Alox SAK has. All the other tools are well-known from other models and work great.3. Lanyard ring - there isn't one, so it's smoother to carry in your pocket and has an extra level of comfort in the hand, but you can't attach it to anything else or add a lanyard.4. Price. At under £33, it is very good value. At £57 (RSP) still worth it but not such a bargain.5. Legal - blade under 3" and non-locking so UK legal carry - just don't be waving it around in Tesco or use as a weapon. Conclusion - I love it. Could only be improved with an 'X' version (adds scissors) or by upgrading to a blade steel with superior edge retention - which can be said of any and all Victorinox models and would increase the price a fair bit.

Pruner Blade!
Love all My collection of Saks (mostley from Amazon, the Best prices out there!)My Farmer Alox is one of My favorites so I thought I'd takes the plunge and purchase this model, the one thing missing on the Farmer is a secondery blade (Not scissors the Farmer X), this made me purchase this Seven and the fact that the Lanyard ring does stick into your palm on the Farmer this hasn't got one. But the Pruner blade is Bent purposely near the tip to fit down the side of the large screwdriver/cap lifter which is opposite! I already sent one back hoping this wasn't the case but it was a manurfacturing design. Not what I expect from My Favorite Knive Makers, Victorinox NO!
