Reel is awesome Rod is a letdown.
I’m a Lew’s guy through and through. Love their products love their collaborations. This rod was a huge letdown. The reel is fantastic absolutely love the reel. But this rod is just waaaaay too fragile for what it claims to be. My first one, bought April 18th, arrived April 30th broke first time I took it out. Rod tip broke about 2” down from the tip. Went through Lew’s customer service and they replaced the rod with no issue. Second rod arrives and I managed to get 3 or 4 trips out of it before the replacement rod also breaks. This time it broke 3/4 of the way up the rod trying to pop a snag loose on a water level branch. I can’t think of any thing that would have broken the rod. I wasn’t horsing it and cranking down on it. Just a quick pop with moderate speed and force to get the snag to come loose and the rod popped instead. It wasn’t stepped on, it wasn’t shut in a car door. I loved this rod so it got the special treatment. Heck I paid nearly $200 for the Rod/reel combo. My most expensive combo for an amateur that loves to fish. Loved this setup and had high hopes for this combo but the rod is just not worth the money paid. Didn’t bother dealing with Lew’s CS again. I’m not up for another 3 weeks of back and forth emails sending pictures and clarification emails. Went to Walmart and bought the Berkeley Shock heavy rod for $40 with a gift card I had.

Best rod and reel combo i have.
This set up lived up to the hype. Great feel, smooth casting, and easy brake set up.It may not be the most expensive reel you can buy, but it sure acts like it.

No good
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. He took it out for 30 minutes to try it out. Came back and put it with his other rods and it fell over and broke. He knows what he is doing since he is on the #1 bass fishing team at his school. Not built well. I would advise to pass on this item.

Rod came broken
Despite all the reviews saying the rod came broken i still got it and sure enough the rod came broken the reel feels good just disappointed with the rod

Came broken
After waiting over a month the to receive this rod and reel, it finally arrived. The box had normal shipping wear, however, the rod was broken. What a let down, I am returning it and getting a refund. I don’t want to wait almost two months for a replacement.

Smooth!
The cast and retrieve on this setup is unreal! Took it straight to the lake on Christmas morning and was amazed at the quality. Great combo!
