Q: I was never given a battery holder. Will they send me one for free?

No. The battery holders are inside the body of the lights i don’t see how you didn’t get one..

Q: how do you install the batteries

The back of the flashlight barrel where the button is, unscrews. Twist it off counterclockwise. If you are using the supplied AAA batteries, they fit into the supplied battery holder. The flat end of each battery (the negative terminal) fits against the spring in each of the three compartments in the battery holder. In the flashlight barrel, remove the plastic spacer tube. That is only used for the 18650 battery (not provided). Put the battery holder into the tube with the protruding knob facing the front of the flashlight. Screw the barrel end back on and press the green button. That should turn it on. You can half-press the button to change modes.

Q: How long does battery last on high? Med? Low?

I have only used it on high with an 18 650 battery and it seems to last for a good long time. I can’t really tell you exactly how long.
