It does have a small crack toward the top, likely a natural part of the wood. But I just love this bowl. I take special care cleaning that area. It's a snap to clean, and it's perfect for big salads.

I love it! I use it for sourdough bread making! Works well for mixing my dough, lots of space.

I have a post purchase satisfaction with this bowl that sustains me on these cold lonely pandemic nights. Have you ever been frustrated that your joie de vivre while making a Cesar Salad just loses a beat because the bowl is too small, or it’s just not good enough quality? Now I WOW my guests (mostly a collection of stuffed animals from my childhood) with its depth, it’s durability and its exquisite quality as I smash my garlic, muddle my anchovies and perform the daring dance of tossing a Cesar Salad with gusto! This is a fine bowl. It is, as advertised, a large, wooden bowl. It looks good and does what one expects of a bowl. No more, no less. For that I give it 5 stars.However, though I cannot downgrade its 5 stars because of this, Lipper should flog and ridicule whoever chose to use military-grade adhesive to secure the product information to the bowl's bottom. You could mend fuselages with this stuff, it never comes off.Anyway, the bowl is fine, just get used to the adhesive, it will be around for awhile.
