High quality axe
This is a high-quality tool for hewing logs. A pleasure to use. The chisel-like single bevel of the blade is a must to get the desired effect. I'm a righty and the left bevel was the ticket. I could use a slightly heavier head perhaps as I like a heavier swing but it has done everything I asked of it. Love the history and tradition behind this product.

Nice...!
This right bevel hewin axe is a beast. Good weight, and design. The handle, has about the perfect grain orientation with a gentle off set which works well to be able to line up the cut. The steel cutting edge really holds an edge well, even busting through tough knots. The only downer is, the flat side had an over bend which I had to file off and then resharpen the beveled side. Oh well, still a hefty hewing axe for the monies. The leather sheath is nice, but could use a thicker welt, but, I just put a little section of 1/4 inch rope inside to help protect the cutting edge and works good. It came quickly and very well packaged. Overall, I like it !

Awesome axe
Its not an axe for felling trees obviously, but for shaping once it is down. Its a real knuckle saver given the angle of the blade to the desired cut. The one I picked up was right handed, which is good by me, but if you are a south paw you might want a different angle on the axe. It came pretty sharp, but you will want to take a file and a sharpening stone to it before you use it.

good quality tool
The tool I should have had years ago I was very surprised by the quality I have only tested it on a black walnut log the axe held it's edge nicely it came relatively sharp I used my diamond stone to touch it up a little I am looking forward to years of use the axe head looks to be made of a good quality of the steel
