A necessary purchase.
Had to use this with my Labrador who developed breathing issues. It was used to administer his inhaler.It was easy to use and easy to see when he had taken enough puffs of his medicine.Regardless of the the high cost it was a necessary purchase and I don't regret buying it if it helped him in any way.He was my Anam Cara.

Don’t buy a cheap fake
My Dog has to have his inhaler twice a day and this is much better than the cheap inhalers as you can see if your dog is breathing the inhaler in as there is a filter that you can see as it moves men your dog breaths.

Easy to use and clean
I’m a veterinary nurse and bought this for my elderly Labrador who has chronic airway disease. It’s sturdy, easy to clean and he took to it well with the aid of some calm training starting with putting the mask on and then straight off and rewarding him; then gradually building up the time. The medication he takes requires him to take up to 10 breaths so it’s worth putting the groundwork in first to get them used to it as ten breaths is a long time for a dog that’s panicking! The indicator is useful to help you count the breaths, then you take it off and reward. His cough has improved dramatically for having this but please note that the medication has to come from your vet on prescription and is not part of the package; it’s also not suitable for all types of airway disease so do discuss with your vet as to whether this is suitable before buying one.

Get your dog used to it.
Bought this to use with an inhaler prescribed by the vet. Very useful contraption if your dog can’t take antibiotics. Easy to use. I got my dog used to it before we started using it properly which made things easier in the long run.

I bought for my yorkie with collapsed trachea … I also bought the cheaper version …which I might add seemed to work equally as good ….

It is an outstanding product. Not familiar with the \"Aerocat\" (I looked it up...think AEROKAT is product) but I would say that would be for cats only. For your dog, the AERODAWG is what you want; it is a great device. Good luck."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"My dog is afraid of the aerosol Chamber, what do you suggest?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Maybe you could try just lying the chamber next to your dog so he knows it is not threatening. After a little while try just petting using the chamber. Hopefully you can slowly slide it around to the muzzle. I am a groomer and that is what I do with my clipper when they are afraid of it around their face."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"I'm not seeing the flap moving is it defective?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Maybe. Your pet is definitely not inhaling the medicine if the flap isn't moving, but in my experience (1 year daily use) that routinely happens. The cause has always been me, usually because of a not tight seal of the cup around my dog's nose. I have found holding the aero dawg up near the top (versus near the bottom where the inhaler is) allows me to position it better and keep a good seal. You can check if it is working properly by puffing on it yourself and seeing if it moves (without the medicine, of course!)"}},{"@type":"Question","name":"which size would best fit a 55lb siberian husky, the medium or the large? She's had the AeroDawg for so long now but if my memory serves me correctly I think the Medium also came with a bit larger mask. Good luck and I hope your husky benefits from this!"}}]}]}
