Wasn't filtering, but CustServ was awesome!
24 hours later and I still haven't been able to filter a single 5-gallon can of diesel. 1 star, right? Well, I called Hopkins Manufacturing directly and they immediately shipped me a new one! So I'm going to leave a 5-star review because of their awesome customer service. I'll edit this review if the new filter has problems but so far, so good.

Pretty good but not perfect....
This is a nice filter for adding gasoline to your equipment. However, it is not GREAT. The bottom of the filter is location approx. 1" above the bottom of the funnel. So the last inch of gasoline your into your Mr. Funnel does not get filtered. You MUST pour this volume of gasoline (approx. 1/2 cup) back into your gas can. This is not really easy to do because of the lack of directional pouring spout. So you need another funnel to pour the remaining gasoline out of Mr. Funnel or you end up with a mess of gasoline all over your gas can, equipment and maybe yourself. Not the kind of mess I like to have around my house or my shed. The filter DOES work to filter the water and debris out of your gasoline. Your equipment does receive clean water-less gasoline. This is nice and reduces maintenance problems down the road. I just wish the manufacturer's design engineers would have actually used the device and created a safe way to dispose of the unfiltered gasoline that is left in the funnel.

Pretty neat! Yes it does hold some fuel on the bottom but its there for a reason.
So I bought this for my lawn equipment since most of the gas is stored in containers and dust, debris and moisture can and will probably get in. First thing I did when I got this home was.... filled it with water! Not a drop came out! Let it dry then filled up the mower with gas. Gas goes through at a steady pace. Many people here complain about fuel being left at the bottom but its there for good reason. Water is heavier than gas so it will naturally pool there if it is present in the gas. Its really not a big deal, I take a quick peak for dirt or water and pour it back into the portable container. Maybe use fuel to start your fire pit lol? Wish this thing was white or a bright color to see if there is debris on the bottom also maybe an indent on the lip of the funnel to pour out that small amount of fuel. With black it is very hard to see. The little tab is useful for me too. My fill neck on my mower is on a 45 degree so once this funnel goes in its basically falling over so no chance of filling. So I used some wire tie to pull it straight up so I can fill with both hands. Also mine came with a new label stuck over an old one, strange....

Great product with two issues
I bought this funnel for my lawn mower that doesn't have a fuel filter on it. It's doesn't hold a lot of fuel so I didn't need the larger one. This is a good concept to filter the fuel before you put it in your machine and trap any water that is in the fuel. However, I have found two issues with it. One is that when you put it in the fuel fill hole You can't see how much fuel is in the tank when you filling it because it covers the entire fuel fill hole. So when you are trying to fill the gas tank on a small mower, you can very quickly overfill it and spill gas everywhere. The other issue is that because the screen is raised a little in the funnel it leaves fuel in the funnel when your done. I think they did this to capture any water that may be in the fuel. The problem is it captures fuel everytime you use it. so then you have to either throw that little bit of gas out or pull the funnel out of the gas tank and turn the funnel over to pour that gas into the tank which defeats the purpose of the funnel. I think they need to redesign this funnel so you can see how much gas is in the tank when your filling it and do away with trying to trap any water that maybe in the fuel. I like the idea of this funnel, just not it's design. The fact of the matter is If you buy your gas a a reputable gas station it shouldn't have any dirt in it. The fuel goes through two or three fuel filters before it comes out of the hose.
