Q: Do you get a nut with the kit

I don’t think that does come with a nut, and unfortunately I installed it at a relatives house, so I can’t easily check if I remember correctly the white U-shaped bracket fits to the sides of the siphon and the pushbutton head is screwed through the centre into that bracket using the supplied plastic bolt, the screw head is then hidden by the two small press in mouldings. I found it an easy fit

Hi The rods are 180mm long and the diameter if the button is 38mm where it fits through the cistern lid
