Q: Would this table wprk well 8n my first grade classroom?

This table is adorable and sturdy but it was much smaller than expected in person, we use it for our 1-2 year old class room at preschool and it works like a charm. 1st graders might have a hard time fitting here, even with the adjustable legs.

Q: I see that the legs are adjustable but is the table as a whole collapsible, allowing the legs to fold in flat for storage?

No it is not collapsible BUT you can just unscew the legs/ take them off and it will lay flat.
