I think this is a great budget dumbbell/barbell combination if you are starting out. The weight on here is fairly accurate but a bit lighter. For example says 1.5kg feels more like 1kg as I have purchased a proper dumbbell before. The size of the weights are massive on the dumbbell which is annoying in my preference and lighter too, so when you add on more weight there isn’t much space to put on to. Out of the package there was this weird sort of oil not sure why, had to clean it for a good 10-15 minutes. The outer layer is made of plastic which is good for safety but not so much for durability in the long term if used consistently. It is easy to put weights on, however the thing that clamps the weights on the bar is fairly bad, when I say clamp it’s like a spinny cog thing that you would need to spin and tighten, however upon leaving the dumbbell overnight, picking it up again the screw cog thing just untightens so you would need to tighten again. But overall I put this as a 5 star even though there was quite a few negative comments is the price, starting out.

As a whole I think this is a great product. I’m a beginner so was looking for something to get me going and this definitely does the job. Only negative I’d day is the screws can loosen so can find yourself tightening them a lot to avoid the weights falling off the bars. Still would say it’s value for money and a great beginner set.

Weights work fine, but as soon as I cut open the planting wrapping around the box, there was a really foul smell of garlic that came from the weights and from inside the box. So bad that it almost made me throw up. Not sure where these were stored before being delivered to me but maybe be mindful. It has quite literally stunk up my whole room and they’re also leaving a foul smell on my hands when using them.

Good product for me as I have arthritis in my hands and the soft grip makes it easier for me to hold. There is also a good selection of weights to suit any level, would recommend for beginners.

The weights were cheap but are well made. Great for a young teen, wouldn’t really appeal to an adult.I have to say they sat in the garden for 3 days because they absolutely stunk of ar5eholes!

I am extremely pleased with these weights. Arrived well packaged and each weight wrapped individually. Simple to put together and, yes, the attachments to keep the weights on the bar do occasionally loosen slightly but not enough to cause a major problem. Considering they cost under £30 I cannot fault them. Cusps to the Amazon driver too. He drove through snow and ice before staggering ( I kid you not ) up my drive to deliver the box !
