Q: What kind of shoes are people wearing this brace with? None of my shoes seem to accommodate the brace; it's too bulky to fit inside comfortably.

I have to use my tennis shoes and lace them somewhat loosely. I also have shoes with a large toe box and a deep heel to accommodate orthopedic inserts and the brace works with them. Otherwise, you are correct. The brace to somewhat bulky and does not fit sleekly into a shoe.

Q: I need a brace for my left ankle to use in a martial arts class. We do a lot of kicks barefoot. Would this brace work for something like that?

No. I've had to use this brace and similar for about 40 years now. I keeps your ankles relatively stable but the toes drop when just in your socks and brack (in fact, I broke my big toe doing martial arts while wearing a brace). Are you sure it's your ankle you want supported? In my opinion, my brace gave me such confidence, I truly FORGOT to make sure my toes were out of the way as well.

Q: Would this work well with running?

Yes. I run with my workouts 3 times a week and while it was never more than a couple miles I never had any issues.

Q: Do you have to bend your foot very much to get it on?

You have to really loosen the ties to get your foot in. You can do it with out bending your ankle but the ties have to be really loose. That’s why the ties are so long.
