Great set of snow shoes for a beginner
I have never had a set of snow shoes before and with the winter we have had so far this year I figured I'd give them a try.I have a 3 mile community trail system behind my house that I am very familiar with and I took a short 1.5 mile hike yesterday for the first time in show shoes and these things worked great. I love the adjustable poles with the various baskets, so I can see using this in both snowy and muddy conditions. I love how they spread your weight distribution so your feet don't go all the way down into the snow because I have had a lot of ice heaves under the surface of the trails and my ankles typically get sore shortly after my hike starts because of the uneven terrain due to the ice heaves, but yesterday after my hike my ankles were not sore in any way! The strapping system is very simple, easy to put on and take off, they should last a good long time. The crampons seemed to be very adequate for climbing and descending hills since I did not slip in any way, I traversed across a few creek crossings and my feet stayed completely dry because it spread my body weight as in not breaking through the ice and they are nice and light weight so my legs did not get tired at all. Now, I did notice when walking through deep powder, about 8 inches, it did throw some powder on the back of my legs which in turn got the back of my legs wet so the next time I go on a like I will wear my light weight ski pants just to keep my legs dry BUT when walking on the trails where there wasn't much powder it did not kick powder up on the back of my legs so I feel it was just because of how deep the powder was is the reason it kicked the snow up on the back of my legs. With me being nit-picky person the only improvement I could see is, it would be nice if there was a netted bag of some sort on the inside of the carrying bag to place the the removable snow baskets in to keep them in their own place within the bag but I would definitely recommend these if you are a beginning snow shoer and wants to give it a try due to their quality and affordability plus you get all the accessories.Edit: I have had these snowshoes for 3 weeks now and have walked in 4 different types of snow conditions, wearing 2 different styles of boots and have determined these were a very solid purchase! They have worked very well for me both accending and descending hills, traversin creek crossings and they have done everything I have expected them to do and have made treking in the snow so much easier. I do have two suggestions if you get a pair, the first being I have noticed that using a milk crate to put them on and take them off it does make it a bit easier, and secondly, my trek today was in snow that had some ice on top of it due to rain yesterday and I was having ice build up in the crampons so I'm going to try to remedy that for tomorrow's trek by spraying the crampons with some Pan cooking spray.

Great for casual snow shoeing
Works well. It was my first time using snow shoes and it felt pretty natural. The carry bag was super convenient and the color looks nice. I have smaller feet (6.5 women’s) so they fit a little big, but I was able to make them work.

Great snow shoes
These snowshoes have completely transformed my winter hiking experience. They're incredibly lightweight, which makes long treks feel much less tiring, but they're also surprisingly sturdy. I've tackled everything from packed trails to deep, powdery snow, and they've provided excellent flotation and traction every time.

Great value in Snowshoes
This package is a great value. I live in Montana and keep these in my truck for emergencies. We currently have over 2 and a half feet on the level and these are perfect for cross country treking.

Get the snowshoes, not the poles!
The media could not be loaded. These snowshoes are great, my sister and I both bought a pair for first time snowshoeing in Colorado. The poles, however, are terrible. The peg and snow basket came off the end of one pole on our very first hike, despite me checking it multiple times to make sure it was on correctly and as snug as possible. I contacted Retrospec to try to get replacement parts and they basically said “replace it yourself!” The poles also can’t hold any weight, and putting any pressure on them causes them to shorten. We had to pause many times to lengthen the poles back out to an appropriate height. Highly recommend the snowshoes for beginners, but get some better poles instead.

Snow shoes
We love these snow shoes. You can wear your own boots with them and the straps are very sturdy. They come with adjustable poles and a sturdy bag to store all the pieces in.

Beginner Snowshoes
My son is interested in trying snowshoeing, he lives on a golf course so in the winter, if we get some snow, these will be great for him to see how he likes it. He wanted something to keep him psychically active during the winter months. He can't wait to give them a try.
