Is this projector true 4k or is it a conversion from 1080??

No, it is not a true 4k. It uses a different process to arrive at a near true 4k picture quality. True 4k projectors are double this price range and higher. Unless you are projecting on a very large screen or sitting close to the screen the difference is negligible in my opinion. It will use the data from 4k UHD discs so no worries about compatibility and it will up-convert 1080 Blu-Ray to near true 4k quality. Unless you are a purist and have the extra money to spend on a true 4K projector I would advise you to buy this and save your money for the next generation, 8k, which is in the works. Spend a little extra on a quality 4k player.

In my apt, lI'm not sure if I'll be able to center the projector in perfect horizontal center of my screen. Is there horizontal keystone correction?

Hi Ben Rubenstein, The Epson Home Cinema 4010 does not have horizontal keystone correction. If the projector cannot be centered in front of the screen, use lens shift to reposition the image instead of using keystone correction for better image quality. Hope this helps! - The Epson Team

Would i need to upgrade my 9 yr old hdmi cable if i go with the epson 4010? i assume yes b/c i’m going from 1080p to 4k (currently have a panasonic)

Yes, you definitely need to upgrade your cable. The best cable to get is a high speed UHD HDMI cable with ethernet that can pass through the full 4k hdr @ 60 htz up to 18 gbt. There are many inexpensive brands on amazon to chose from. Just make sure the cable is a certified UHD 4k hdr @60 18gbt/sec cable.

How big will this project a clean picture? My screen is 32' feet wide 17' feet tall.

The spec is 300” max not 120”. Make sure you read the specs before answering incorrectly. 2400 lumens in a dark or fairly dark room will work fine. Now, if the plan is to use this for 435” screen then you will definitely loose picture quality. 2 guys answered this incorrectly without even looking at specs obviously but said on quote “specs” unbelievable!
