Easy to use.
Works straight from the box, inexpensive, well made, plugs into laptop u.s.b, with no problem.

Decent CD/DVD rom drive.
This cd/dvd rom drive works perfectly on my windows 11 desktop pc. The dvd picture quality during playback is great. There’s no stutter or judder and the drive is very quiet. The cable length is fairly standard, so short. But for a not a lot of money you can pick a longer one of these up on Amazon. It connects via USB to Mini USB. the drive is also powered via the same cable. Comes with Nero burning and archiving software. I haven’t burnt a disk with it as yet so I can’t comment on the write speed. I will mainly be using this for playing CD’s and watching DVD’s, and so far it’s been perfect in that role. Recommended within my scope of use.

Great! But…
Honestly I would give this four and a half stars which would be more accurate. The player is genuinely very good and does what it says it does, but it does have some minor flaws:First of all, it’s very flimsy feeling, it looks great- but even with a case purchased for it I’m nervous about taking it around. the top of it the case is slightly warped which concerns me but does not impede functionality of the device, and that might just be my unit anyway. The Y cable is quite annoying as it takes up 2 USB slots but if you have a USB splitter it’s not too bad.Secondly, this device is very very loud, do not expect it to be quiet when writing even at low speeds, I did expect this though so it wasn’t really a factor when I was buying it. Maybe don’t use it in any libraries. It reads all my Blurays very very well and lets me make my own with relative ease. Be warned though you do need some technical knowledge and external software to get most new commercial Blurays to play- this is not the fault of the player.Box was really well packed and came with a helpful user guide disc.

Reads and burns CDs without any problem.
Functions well but far from a robust case so okay for infrequent use which is what I purchased it for. Supporting Nero software a real bonus if needed otherwise maybe just more bloat on the PC. Happy with purchase overall but a bit pricey for what it is.

Nice and simple
Just a good solid little dvd drive and burner. Does exactly what it should.

Adapter Missing
The boxed product had been previously opened and the promised USB-A to USB-C adapter wasn't there, just the small plastic packet that it would've been in. I should really have returned the drive as it's incomplete, but the short std cable was included and works fine, as does the drive. Being in a hurry to copy stuff I'll keep it for now. However, I will be alert to any drive misbehaviour as a customer return, which is what it appears to be, must have had a reason. So far so good though.

I slim bit of quality.
After having some very annoying issues with a cheaper brand ( it was returned ), I thought I better buy a known make and it's the best thing I've done. No more discs being ejected several times before being read, stuttering when playing and stopping half way through the disc. If you're looking for an external Blu-ray player - writer then you're in the right place. It also comes with a 25GB disc and the best thing is, it's a Pioneer drive so you know it's excellent quality. It's very thin, you might have to use both the USB 3 plugs for power or the power supply but the main thing is, it works.
