It should work,it's pretty strong glue and permanent

Maybe... It holds fabric very firmly, but if you were only gluing down the end there isn't much of a carpet thread to stick onto. If the area doesn't get much footfall it might work. It will be very difficult to remove from the carpet thread if it doesn't work, but it is a brilliant glue for many other purposes, I use it for paper and card as well as fabric and craft.

Its for stopping fabrics from fraying, it wont repair anything which is torn.
