Design Toscano KY7966 Howling Lone Wolf Garden Animal Statue, Polyresin, Full Colour, 90 cm

I can't believe the wonderful detailing of this statue. It's a she-wolf and we've called her Gubbia after the wolf St Francis tamed in Gubbio. She'll accompany the statue of St Francis in our garden shrine. Her mouth is so detailed - the soft tissue, the ridges on the mouth roof, her tongue and her wonderful teeth, all coloured to natural perfection. Her nose looks wet and shiny, just as it should. Her half-closed eyes as she howls even have clearly defined eyelashes to the top lids. She's so beautiful that we want to stroke her. As good as the photograph is on the websites, they don't come near the reality of this gorgeous piece. We can quite understand the previous reviewer who said she wanted to keep the statue indoors. Our Gubbia will be placed out of the sun and in a sheltered spot surrounded by large rocks and sympathetic planting..Gubbia arrived in a large, very strong box and fitted into moulded polystyrene blocks to keep her safe. The notice on the box warned that it was heavy - and it was. Even unpacked, Gubbia is weighty so for absolute safety we suggest two people handle her.The package arrived very swiftly after the order was placed and was handled with care. Not only do we wish to thank Toscano for producing this beautiful statue, we want to thank Amazon in the United Kingdom for making it available and for the safe, fast delivery it made.We cannot recommend this statue highly enough and hope anyone reading this review will have full confidence in making a purchase. This item is beautiful, you can almost hear him howling if you let your imagination go to work, he sits in my house, too precious to put in the garden and he serves a useful purpose as I sometimes hold him to balance myself when closing my blinds, he is pure indulgence but worth every penny. Love him!
