Gets the job done for a fraction of the price
I recently moved up to a cottage in the mountains and live a ways down a narrow road. We have to take our trash cans all the way up the road closer to the main highway, so it's a good half mile trek in the pitch dark woods. This hooks up to the tow hitch on my truck and lets me carry the trash can to and from the pick up area easily. In the upright position you can slot the can on the arm and it will support the trash can off the ground. If you release the handle the arm swings down and can be used to drag the can using its wheels. I saw similar devices, which this one probably copied, for several hundred dollars. While those are made in the US, probably with better materials and cleaner welds, this one comes from China. The welds are okay and the powder coating is a bit rough, but for a fraction of the cost, it gets the job done. It feels sturdy and has been working great so far. For most things that attach to a tow hitch, I wouldn't go cheap, but this is only carrying a trash can and not towing a trailer.

Sturdy but needed adjustment
Bought 2 of these trash can grabbers for a dual lift system. Product arrived undamaged & well packaged. Product also appears to be sufficiently robust for the work its expected to do. However, fitting the receiver pin through one of the grabbers was not possible as it arrived. The 5/8" pin fit through one side of one of the grabbers but not the other, the hole was too small. Rather than return the unit, I reamed out the hole slightly on my drill press and the pin fit just fine. Minor inconvenience; but slightly annoying.

Money well spent!!
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this because I live down in long gravel road and recently with snow storms and ice storms. It’s been impossible to get my trash dumpster down it walking it. It’s like a nice rink. I was sitting there wondering to myself if anyone’s ever invented a trailer hitch just to haul trash cans like this if you live in the country and sure enough searching Amazon, I found this one. I was hopeful it would work and it absolutely 100% does. I got a Janky trashcan lid that’s cracked on top and still it effortlessly pulled the can all the way down the driveway very smooth. It is super easy to put on and take off your hitch. I’m storing mine in the trunk of my car. I 100% recommend this. It is solid thick heavy metal very well designed and fit my 2 inch hitch perfectly. Worth every dime.

Hard to get the can off
It works well enough I guess, but my neighbor has a more expensive brand and I wish I had gotten that instead. Its easy enough to get the empty can onto the mount, but when it comes time to release with a heavy can, it requires pushing up on the can with a fair amount of strength to release pressure, while simultaneously flipping the switch. If the can is filled with 80lbs of stuff you push up with say 40lbs of pressure. Its fine with two people, but really challenging with one person since you cant be on both sides of the can at once. Since I mostly cart bins of yard waste that are heavy, I no longer use the fancy articulated hitch with release mechanism and instead just lean the can over placing the handle in the hitch and drag it on its wheels. This defeats the purpose.

Great product to pull your garbage can
Use this every time I move my garbage can to the street. Easy to use when the can isn’t full. Perfect size and great way to tow your garbage can. Isn’t easy to get the garbage can on when it’s full.

Defective manufacturing AND defective design
Several problems with this device. If I had designed this myself I'd be saying "I can't sell this, it doesn't really work."1. Defective manufacturing. The holes in the square tubing that slides into the trailer hitch receiver are not centered, so I was unable to insert the hitch pin through the holes - the holes don;t line up. I have a 1400 square foot metal shop that is capable of manufacturing or fabricating almost anything. Know what I don't do? Metalwork for free.2. Defective design. You have to lift the entire loaded trash can onto the hook yourself to get the can off the ground. The manufacturer claims "...secure the garbage can with a simple latching mechanism, and you are off the ground and ready to start transporting." It does not do that. Given the very short arm that pivots, there is insufficient distance to either lower the hook, or, to raise the hook sufficiently to raise the trash can. While I did not measure the hook from the low to the high setting, in my opinion it lifts maybe 1/4-1/2 inch. That will not lift the can off the ground if it is on the ground when you place the hook under the bar on the can.Do not buy.
