I have used it as a gaming headset with the mic, works well. Plugs into the mic and aux port

Q: Are these any good for listening to heavy metal on? i.e motörhead, iron maiden and rammstein

These are a great set of rounded headphones with particular inference towards the lower end. There is a substantial burn in time of at least 20-30 hours so I wouldn't expect them to be perfect from out the box. If you are using a phone or other type device I wouldn't suggest these are the best bet. If you are at home using a hifi these are for you.
