Q: I have used hycosan extra and they are more of a gel consistency. the thealoz duo seem more like water, is this correct?

Thank you for your enquiry. Please note that there are three formulations of Thealoz Duo: Thealoz Duo 10 ml, Thealoz Duo UD and Thealoz Duo Gel. Thealoz Duo 10 ml and Thealoz Duo UD are the same formulations. The only difference is the packaging. THEALOZ DUO and THEALOZ DUO UD are a solution that contains trehalose 3% and sodium hyaluronate 0.15% in a preservative-free formulation. THEALOZ DUO GEL is a gel that contains trehalose 3%, sodium hyaluronate 0.15% and carbomer 0.25% in a preservative-free gel formulation. Thea adheres to a code of practice set out by the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), which sets various standards. Q: Are these suitsble to use when wearing contact lenses?

Yes they are with hard lenses, including gas permeable, work well with them. I don’t know about soft lenses. Also you can get a more viscous type in individual phials that are suitable to put in before going to bed after removal of lenses. Using either sort of drops before bed after removal of lenses would be a good alternative if you have soft lenses.

Q: The packaging is different from the classical Thea product. I wonder whether what is advertised is really the unadulterated stuff?

Dear Customer, Thanks for your query. Thealoz Duo 10ml and the rest of the Thea range had an exterior packaging update in July 2021. The actual product Thealoz Duo 10ml has not changed in the formulation. Just an external box packaging update. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
