Honestly works great
I can't say i smell anything from it myself, but it has definately helped keep our new Maine Coon happy and relaxed, it was used in his original home so i assume it was also a little familiarity for him, but it works wonders for us! I would say it is a little on the expensive side but overall not TOO expensive as it is working and it lasts a month! It is super easy to use which is perfect too.

It worked…
My cat had some health problems, not feeling good combined with the stress of quite a few vet visits changed her personality, she became skittish with a reluctance to come inside the house. Closing the cat flap made her worse, she stalked around from room to room meowing loudly until I gave in and let her back outside. So, I tried again with the plug in diffuser working its magic, this time she was much calmer, no meowing or stress, she just jumped into her bed and went to sleep. After 2 days I opened the cat flap again and she’s now back to her normal self. From reading the comments it appears the effectiveness of this product is hit or miss depending on the cat - much like catnip - but it’s definitely worth a try.

Slowly starting to make a difference I think
One of our three cats has been peeing in the house every so often for the best part two years now, with no obvious change in circumstances which might have triggered the behaviour. I had heard about Feliway a long time ago but was a bit loathe to spend money on what seemed to be a somewhat expensive product without trying everything else first. Exasperated after so long, I finally bit the bullet and decided to give this a go.The leaflet advises waiting a week before noticing any difference; after a couple of weeks nothing much seemed to have changed at all. My wife was dismissive, but I noticed that the level of fluid in the container had not gone down as much as expected. Each vial is supposed to last a month, but at the observed rate of depletion it looked like it was going to last much longer than that. Clearly it was not dispensing the pheromone as fast as it ought to be. The leaflet suggested checking that the device was fitted together correctly, which it was as far as I could tell; beyond that it could only suggest trying in a different socket if it was not evaporating sufficiently. Unfortunately there wasn't really a suitable alternative in the area I wished to use the device so I haven't tried moving it.Anyway, I remained patient, and nearly one month on from starting use I have noticed some definite positive behavioural changes in the cat in question. The peeing seems to be much less frequent, even more striking because of the constant extremely wet weather we have been having recently as I write, which normally increases the frequency of indoor peeing quite considerably. She appears to be spending more time downstairs, in the kitchen/living room area where the diffuser is placed, in closer proximity to one of the other cats she doesn't get on very well with, instead of skulking about other parts of the house. She seems more amenable to being picked up, which is something she has never really liked, and she has probably spent more time curled up on my lap in the living room in the last couple of weeks than she has in the previous seven years of her life put together - she's never been much of a lap cat. It's still work in progress and will have to be monitored over a longer period, but at the moment I'm feeling positive about the effect. It would perhaps be better if it was diffusing pheromone at a faster rate as apparently intended, but on the other hand I'll be glad if it has an effect but lasts longer and so I won't have to fork out as much to keep buying vials.

No effect yet, still hoping!
I wrote this review over a month ago but it was never posted, dont know why. The original product was used up and I plugged in the refill. I am sorry to say that even though I had very high hopes, after continual use being plugged in since February 5th, the cat is no better. I think he is seriously mentally damaged but I am pleased it works for some.Original revue: WE have two rescue brothers, one is more or less normal, the other is definitely not! We have had them for 6 years now. The smaller one, although they are of the same litter the size difference is huge, he is 'normal' will come up to people to be stroked but no one can pick him up, he is ok to be brushed though. The other one has been traumatized from Day one, they were the last in the litter of Mum and 5/6 kittens and they were fostered for months as no one would take them. As we had had cats for over 30 years we were allowed to adopt them. I still have high hopes of this product making him sociable, not paranoid, not nervy, able to be stroked - I have NEVER stroked him since he arrived here. The only person who can touch him is my husband, he will sit on his knee on a cushion but any sneeze, cough etc he is off! He still has the first box we made for him which is his comfort zone, he spends hours in it, just has small peephole where he can get in and out. They have never been to the vet or a cattery, we cannot holiday together as they cannot go to a cattery for quite a few reasons mainly we could never get him in particular into a carrier to get to a vet for inoculations, Idon't know why they were not done when they were neutered, it would have been easier when they were small and he is huge now and very powerful. If the doorbell goes, he slinks away on his stomach to his box, some people who visit us have never seen him. This product has been plugged in constantly now for 4 weeks and no real sign yet of improvement, I will however persevere and use the refill in the hope it is just taking longer than normal to have an effect. We think he is just a tiny bit more laid back but it could be our imagination! We are going to Australia in December, so got a good while for it to work so we can get him/them to a cattery otherwise we will have to get housesitters or one of us will not be going!!

It's worth trying
I was honestly skeptical at first, but Feliway has worked wonders for my cat. She used to be very skittish and would hide during thunderstorms or when guests came over. Within just a few days of plugging in the diffuser, I noticed she was much calmer and more confident. No more scratching the furniture or excessive meowing at night! The 30-day starter kit is super easy to use, and the scent is barely noticeable to humans. It’s made a huge difference in creating a peaceful home environment for both of us.

Really works!
This was one of the best things I could have bought when I got another kitten. My two cats were so much more relaxed and it was very easy to use , I would recommend this to any pet owner , it really works
