Nice extra protection for the case, but supplied white adhesive was lacking, only lasted 3 days, had to use different adhesive to get it to stick.Yes cleaned both case and part with alcohol prior to install.

Color of paint a negative as not matching bike case. Not fit flush on edges so expect they will get snagged at some point and pull off. However, buy cheap you get cheap.

Xitomer makes decent products for the DR650; these case guards are no exception. Made from aluminum and they fit perfect. My main goal is to prevent that shift lever from breaking the left side case if it falls over. These are definitely thick enough to provide protection. I’ll install the right side too but it almost serves no purpose since the right case not in jeopardy. Comes with silicon adhesive to mount which works well and allows precise placement . My only gripe is the finish; I chose silver thinking it was actually bare aluminum buts it’s painted silver that looks kind of funny, black would have been a better choice. At this low price it’s worth removing the paint to get brushed aluminum look or simply repaint them, I sprayed mine machine gray and I’m happy now. Great fit and about 1/3rd the cost of name brand covers!

Arrived with machine marks and blemishes and it looks like debris that was painted over or epoxied over. See photos. I know it's going to get scraped up somewhat from my boots and debris kicking up but come on if I pay for it to be brand new it should be brand new blemish free. Returning.

It will protect the case covers from minor incursions. Don’t expect it to keep the lower parts from taking damage.

Good product, needed some very slight bending to fit properly. Did it by hand, no biggie.Had to knock off a star though -- the black covers came with WHITE RTV.Now I have to go shopping (and waiting) for some high-temp black RTV. Rats.PS -- the instructions say that if the covers come off (rare), they'll ship new ones for free. Good customer support if it's true... haven't tested it.

Comes with way more rtv than you need in a resealable tube. They look good, fit well and add a bit of protection

Installed 1 year ago on my DRLooks good and solid enough.I wish I’d ordered in silver instead of black as it doesn’t look like the paint is durable.It’s on a dirt bike so no big issue
