I initially went for this product because i liked the idea of having a saucepan that could heat itself and free me from the other devices that i use around my kitchen. Initially the saucepan did not disappoint, it is well wieghted, fairly large and easy to plug in and non stick, so all the boxes were ticked before I even began However the instruction book itself was sparse and this led me to an uneasy feeling that things may be difficult once I actually started cooking. The instruction manual includes a few basic recipes which i avoided as i wanted to simmer a spaghetti bolognese sauce for a number of hours and then add this to pasta later on. This is where my problem began. This little saucepan only has 2 power modes and these modes can be basically summed up as rocket and rocket fuel. In the first setting 250 watt any liquid that is placed within the saucepan will in fact boil in a short amount of time and stay at boiling point for the remainder of the cook.. On the other hand if you put the saucepan to the full setting you will in fact have a setting that will fry bacon in a few seconds and indeed would be adequate for a small steak. So here is my problem in a nutshell. There is no thermostatic control whatsoever on this saucepan so if you have various types of FOOD you have no choice but to either use a hot or hotter setting, Suddenly our wonder saucepan is no longer a cook pot but a frying vessel. I am sorry i cannot give any more stars to this product i do not usually give bad reviews but on this occasion i have been truly disappointed and my meal was ruined. Any oven whatsoever without a gradient or thermostatic control is not an oven. I now use it as a breakfast frying vessel for bacon and egg and for this purpose it is truly fit for the intended use.
