I had Jill Kirsh come over to my home several years ago for a one-on-one consultation. I wasn't certain what to expect because ever since I was a child, my doctors have always told me I was "color deficient." But after Jill started showing me different swatches, I immediately noticed how being in the right colors drew all the attention to my face. This is because Jill's innovative color system is based on hair color, so when you are in your right colors, your clothing and accessories naturally draw people's attention to your face. When Jill came to my home, I purchased a pocket swatch book from her (like this one on Amazon), because every color in the swatch book goes together. This means that if I take the swatch book shopping with me and only buy colors that are in the swatch book, everything in my closet will match. All my socks, ties, shirts, belts, slacks and shoes match, so even if I go into my closet in the dark and randomly grab an outfit, it is guaranteed to match--which is perfect for someone who is color challenged, such as myself! The best part is that by drawing the attention upward, being in the right colors really does make me look thinner. It also makes me look younger because the right colors seem to add energy to my face. The best part of being in my right colors is that a $10 H&M t-shirt in my right colors can look more amazing than a $50 designer shirt in my wrong colors.The reason I am writing this review is because I have recently gotten into photography and wanted to buy all the swatches so my photos turn out better. There are many things that go into making a great photo, but being in the right colors can add a vibrancy and "pop" to a photo that would not otherwise exist. For actors, having a photo "pop" is a must, if you want to stand out and be more easily noticed.Tips: I wanted to share two tips. First, you will notice that Jill sells four swatch books, which correspond to four different types of hair color. Two of the Jill Kirsh pocket swatch books have her logo in silver and two have her logo in gold. This corresponds to your jewelry color. This is a little over-simplified, but if you buy jewelry and accessories that correspond with the logo cover, your jewelry will facilitate the process of drawing attention to your face, and the jewelry will complement all the other colors in the swatch book rather than distract from your face. This also means your jewelry should match all your clothes and shoes, etc.Second, if you buy multiple swatch books (either because you are a photographer or because different people in your household have different color hair), you will notice the back of the plastic baggy the swatch book comes in has a label that says what color hair the swatch book corresponds with. Due to my "color deficiency," after I received all four of Jill's swatch books, I also wrote the hair color the swatch book corresponds with on Jill's business card inside the swatch book, in case I got the plastic baggies mixed up. But don't worry. You will probably quickly memorize your colors (and your family's colors). And if you do get your swatch books mixed up, you can just visit Amazon or Jill's website and look at the colors in the photo to sort them out.

I had been trained as a color consultant back in the 80's and have lived by my colors for nearly 35 years. It works. I can get dressed in the dark because everything works together. No more hosh posh closet items and what goes with what and what do I now have to buy to wear with this color. I thought the art of color analysis and wearing the right colors near your face was a lost art as I have seen so many people wearing their wrong colors -- especially the television people. I even wrote a book on it called DON'T LOOK GOOD-- LOOK GREAT!!. In the 80's we were a season. I upgraded the concept to STRONG COOL, SOFT COOL, STRONG WARM & SOFT WARM. One day I picked up an issue of For Women First and on page 13 I saw Jill's name and her colors fit what I was trained back in the 80's. I am thrilled she has kept this scientific goof proof color concept alive and will. I only hope she considers bringing it to men and women as a relationship marketing business opportunity. I will be one of the first to sign up. I have all of the BeautiControl swatches and color books but ordered Jill's in my Soft Cool colors and will keep her flip chart in my purse for easy shopping.

I LOVE my Jill Kirsh Color Swatch Book!! It has totally simplified this part of my life - and has made me feel much more attractive and confident! (Almost every day I get compliments from people I know - and also from strangers - saying things like "You're looking really good!" or "That color looks great on you!") But what I really love is that it is SO easy to go shopping now. I keep my little swatch book in my purse and I don't buy ANYTHING anymore that's not my color. It saves me a lot of time and hassle. And it's FUN!! Also what I love is that I cleaned out my entire closet which created a LOT more space (and extra hangers) by removing and donating all those "maybe I'll wear this some time" items that I never seem to wear. My closet is beautifully organized now - with room for new things that DO look really good on me. Awesome product!! Thank you Jill Kirsh Color!!!!

The colors are vivid and I have used them a lot while shopping. My problem is that they are not worth $50.00. They are pieces of fabric glued on cardboard and put in an attractive case. Even though I use them, I cannot recommend them to others.

I ordered this swatch book along with the make up palate. As I’ve tried some of the make up, I will obviously be keep it. (Don’t love it but don’t hate it)I’m returning this swatch book because I really don’t think a lot of the colors on it will work for me. Oh well, worth a try.

Yes the colors are great. In a plastic sleeve that you can carry in your purse, but really?? $49 for a few pieces of fabric? This is way overpriced and I am sure you are paying for the name. Maybe worth $19 or even $29 if you are stretching it, but certainly not worth almost $50.00!

Jill Kirsh's Color Swatch Book (and all her products) have rocked my world. I love your color system! My swatch book is always in my purse now. I had my colors done years ago based on my skin tone and I thought I was wearing the right colors. When I had my one-on-one consultation with Jill and she draped the different colors over me, I was amazed by how much of a difference the right colors for my hair color made. It was eye opening. I look and feel so much better in the colors that are right for me now. I'll be saving a lot of money by buying only clothes that are the right color for me. Thank you, Jill!

Nice, but pricey. Received only 27 fabric swatches. Watched her video, and she commented that all people can wear all colors, but where is the gray? $49 is a bit much for limited information.
